Bandai Reveals New One Piece Card Game Sets and World Finals Reset

Bandai’s June 18 livestream detailed new Elbaph and Heroines card game sets and a revamped World Championship.

Bandai laid out its next wave of One Piece Card Game products with The World’s Strongest Warriors (OP-17) and ONE PIECE Heroines Edition 2 [EB-05]. The Next Plan presentation held on June 18 also unveiled revamped details about World Finals, the game's top tournament.

Both sets will function as booster packs for the One Piece Starter Deck [ST31–36], scheduled to release on July 31, 2026. The starter deck has six variants, based on franchise popular characters, including protagonist Luffy, Zoro, Sabo, and Charlotte Katakuri.

The World’s Strongest Warrior deck is inspired by One Piece’s Elbaph Arc storyline and the Four Emperors. The ONE PIECE Heroines Edition vol. 2 is themed on the anime sequel, ONE PIECE HEROINES storyline.

New One Piece Card Game Sets: Elbaph and Heroines Booster Packs Highlight Key Characters

The OP-17 preview leans into Elbaph, the giant-occupied island anchoring the anime’s current arc. Bandai’s official announcement only previewed sample cards for the pack, which will be released on Aug 22, 2026. The sample cards feature Luffy, Edward Newgate, and Loki, three major characters shaping the Elbaph arc plotline.

However, the Heroines Edition vol. 2 Extra Booster pack, set to release on Oct 30, did not preview any card samples. The announcement came with a promotional visual featuring Nico Robin and Nami from the franchise.

The second Heroines edition follows February 2026’s first Heroines Edition. It was composed of 75 unique cards centered on female One Piece characters, with a leader card featuring Nefeltari Vivi.

However, the EB-05 ties directly to the anime ONE PIECE HEROINES, a one-episode special adapted from the One Piece Heroines light novel, airing on July 5, 2026. Prices for the Starter Deck and both booster packs were not disclosed in the presentation.

ONE PIECE Card Game World Finals Qualification Expands for 2026-2027 Season

The same event confirmed that the ONE PIECE Card Game World Finals will be held as a standalone event in March 2027, with the number of invited players from each region expanded. The Finals will coincide with BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest, which is taking place around the same time and place, according to the announcement.

The ONE PIECE Card Game Championship is the largest tournament for ONE PIECE Card Game, which is hosted by Bandai Namco. The championship spans  North America, Latin America, Europe, and Oceania.

Regional Championships and flagship tournaments will feed into the qualification pathway for the World Championship in Japan in 2027. For the 2026-2027 season, North America, Latin America, and Europe will have two finals to qualify for the championship.

The recent announcement highlighted Bandai's endeavour to balance collectible releases with competitive gaming. This is a strategy, that has helped the One Piece Card Game remain one of the most visible anime-based trading card games (TCG) globally. With Elbaph and Heroine-themed products, the One Piece TCG will carry its momentum into 2027.
