Highlights

  • BTS drew more than 140,000 fans across two Baltimore shows, setting an M&T Bank Stadium attendance record.
  • The sellout comes as U.S. awareness of BTS reached 42%, nearly four times the K-pop average.
  • BTS next heads to Arlington, Texas, for Aug. 15–16 stadium shows as its US tour continues.

BTS brought in 140,000 fans to M&T Bank Stadium across August 10 and 11, setting an all-time two-day attendance record for the Baltimore venue, the latest stop on the North American leg of the group’s ARIRANG World Tour.

The Baltimore performance followed a two-night show at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, where the group drew 157,000 attendees throughout August 1 and 2. BTS will continue its US stadium itinerary with shows in Arlington, Texas, on August 15 and 16, before moving to Toronto, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

BTS Scores Record Favorability Among US Fans

The live performance figures align with growing recognition across the wider US music market. Second-quarter consumer survey data from Luminate indicates BTS awareness stands at 42% among American music consumers, nearing the group’s historical peak of 43% set in the third quarter of 2023.

The 42% figure sits 18 points above the 24% average awareness throughout all music artists, as tracked by Luminate. It is nearly four times the 11% average recorded across the 22 K-pop acts included in the organization’s survey. Recognition is mostly concentrated amongst younger listeners, reaching 59% within the 18 to 24 age bracket while surpassing the 50% threshold for the 18-to-34 cohort.

Favorability among consumers aware of the group hit 46%, the highest level logged since Luminate began monitoring the metric in 2021, when favorability was 34%. The metric topped 40% across every age bracket surveyed, led by 60% among respondents aged 13 to 17.

BTS’ ARIRANG Breaks K-pop’s Usual Sales Mold

BTS’ ARIRANG posted a massive 516,000 U.S. debut units, rivaling top Western pop acts. Driven by 208,000 vinyl copies (~40% of total sales), it set a single-week record since 1991 for any group, while also defying K-pop’s usual CD-heavy model.

On streaming platforms, ARIRANG recorded about 5.7 billion global on-demand streams in its first 16 weeks. Bolstered by catalog consumption, total streams for BTS hit 8.7B over the same period. The album returned to the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart after the group appeared at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final halftime show, thus showcasing how the act has built a durable mainstream audience in the US beyond its core fanbase.
