BTS has expanded its stay on the American music charts amidst its preparations for one of the largest global stages in sports entertainment. As per Billboard’s June 20 chart data, Swim, the lead song from the group's fifth studio album Arirang, secured the No. 43 spot on Hot 100 chart after a residency of 12 consecutive weeks. The group’s performance reinforces their sustained narrative of endurance in a volatile streaming market.
BTS Builds Momentum Before FIFA World Cup
Swim’s longevity paired with a record-tying run on other global charts and an active stadium tour, showcases how the South Korean group continues to dominate both mainstream radio and legacy physical sales platforms. This commercial stability establishes a strong foundation for the group, as they position themselves for an upcoming performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final halftime show on July 19.
Arirang Album and Swim Set New Records
Apart from its Hot 100 position, Swim has maintained market domination on US broadcast radio by ranking at No. 13 on Pop Airplay and No. 16 on Adult Contemporary. The track also held the No. 2 spot on the Billboard Global Excl. US chart and has already logged eight weeks at No. 1 this year. This brings Swim into a tie with the group's 2020 single, Dynamite, for the most weeks spent atop that particular ranking, while creating a new benchmark among all 2026 releases. Simultaneously, the song’s parent album Arirang gained the No. 11 on the Billboard 200 albums chart while also depicting physical purchasing power by ranking at No. 7 on the Top Album Sales chart and No. 16 in vinyl formats.
BTS' Fest Release and Robust Catalog Boosts Their Global Streaming
The group's momentum is further bolstered by fan engagement which contributes to their deep catalog stability, while also providing newer songs the popularity. For instance, BTS’ vinyl-specific song, Come Over, which was digitally released on June 12 for the group’s annual Festa celebration, debuted at No. 11 on Spotify’s Daily Top Songs Global chart and seized 86% of Billboard’s weekly new music poll. Additionally, the septet’s legacy releases persistently generate reliable traction, for instance, their 2022 anthology Proof marked its 209th week on Billboard’s World Albums chart.
BTS Europe Tour to Expand Arirang’s Success
After their two-night stand in Busan, BTS’ Arirang world tour is scheduled to shift to European markets with upcoming stops in Madrid, Brussels, London, Munich, and Paris. This multi-city tour serves as one of the key drivers of the album's long-term physical and streaming consumption, strengthening the group's global market share through the summer tour cycle.
