  • Jimin became the first Asian solo artist to surpass 2.3 billion Spotify streams with Who.
  • Who spent 33 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, while its album, Muse totaled 3.8 billion streams.
  • Jungkook still leads among Asian soloists, as Seven featuring Latto has crossed 2.8 billion streams.

Jimin has written a new chapter in music history by being the first Asian solo artist to reach 2.3 billion Spotify streams with a single track. As per Spotify chart statistics from Feb 19, 2026, his lead single Who, from album Muse, surpassed the milestone 581 days after its July 19, 2024, release date.

The success was achieved without the assistance of a featured partner artist, which is an unusual feat for solo artists on global streaming platforms. As of this week, Who, is ranked at 54 on Spotify's Daily Top Songs Global list and remains number one in South Korea.

A Record-Breaking Run for Jimin’s Muse

Who spent 33 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, the longest run by a K-pop male solo track. The single's success has driven Muse, its parent album, to 3.8 billion streams. This marks the best streaming total for a Korean-language solo album on the platform's record. Additionally, Muse spent 34 weeks on the Billboard 200, setting various records for Korean solo albums along the way.

Jungkook’s Seven Maintains Global Dominance

While Jimin breaks new solo records, his fellow BTS member Jungkook maintains the overall lead among Asian soloists. As of Feb 22, 2026, his debut individual track Seven (feat. Latto) had received over 2.8 billion streams.

The song is presently ranked at No. 69 in the list of most-streamed songs in Spotify history. It also has a 136-week streak on the Weekly Top Songs Global chart, which is the longest ever for a song by an Asian solo artist. Since its July 2023 release, Seven, has swiftly surpassed key streaming milestones, while maintaining a steady position at the top of global and Billboard charts alike.

The Global Surge of K-Pop

These individual milestones emerge when K-pop is experiencing fast structural expansion, with K-pop streaming on Spotify increasing by 362% globally over a five-year period, as indicated by Spotify's 2024 data. Regions like Southeast Asia (up 423%) and the United States (up 182%) have emerged as important markets for the genre.

While both experienced bands and young groups are experiencing record-breaking stream counts, BTS remains a super force. Spotify's 2025 Wrapped data reveals that the septet was the most-streamed K-pop artist globally for the eighth consecutive year, despite the group's hiatus.

Jimin and Jungkook's figures indicate a shift in international consumption preferences. Their albums represent a situation in which non-English music commands sustained global attention through repeated listening and deeper regional penetration. The longevity of their individual catalogs implies that K-pop's globalization is becoming a permanent power in the music industry.
