Los Angeles has designated Sep 1-8, 2026, as ‘BTS Week’ as the K-pop group kicks off four sold-out ARIRANG world tour shows at SoFi Stadium. The city will also illuminate City Hall in red on Sep 1, using the color associated with BTS' fifth studio album, ARIRANG, as part of its official welcome.
The concerts are scheduled for Sep 1, 2, 5, and 6, marking BTS' return to SoFi Stadium a little less than five years after its Permission to Dance on Stage performances in December 2021.
BTS Receives Official Recognition From Los Angeles City Council
A proclamation ceremony was held at City Hall on Aug 31, 2026, attended by city council members, tourism officials, and BIGHIT MUSIC executives.
Mayor Karen Bass stated that the recognition reflects the ability of arts and culture to foster mutual understanding and unite communities. She also added that Los Angeles is proud of BTS' contribution to global culture and its connection with the city.
The City Council's resolution described BTS, which debuted in 2013, as one of its generation's most influential artists and credited the group with helping open opportunities for Korean and other Asian performers internationally. It also recognized the group's messages of self-love and hope through music, performances, and campaigns, including its broader efforts to promote Korean culture.
BTS Week Follows Similar Tour Honors
Los Angeles joins several locations that have marked BTS' ARIRANG tour with civic recognition. El Paso County in Texas, along with Illinois and Toronto, have each designated a BTS Week or BTS Day to coincide with the group's performances.
With City Hall joining the celebration and four SoFi Stadium dates already sold out, BTS' Los Angeles return combines a major concert stop with an official citywide cultural welcome.
