Stray Kids have achieved their first gold-certified single in France. According to the French National Phonographic Industry Association, also known as Syndicat National de l'Édition Phonographique (SNEP), the group’s 2024 track Chk Chk Boom crossed the 15 million streaming threshold.
This is the first time that Stray Kids have achieved a milestone in France, one of Europe’s biggest music markets. This acknowledgement also positions Stray Kids as the first K-pop boy group from the fourth generation, and only the second K-pop male act overall to reach this benchmark.
Chk Chk Boom leads multi-release gold streak in France
Stray Kids’ track is the lead song from their ninth EP Ate, which is also a gold-certified album. Alongside Ate, the group had earned gold certifications in France earlier as well for three other releases, including their third studio album 5-Star, eighth EP Rock-Star, and mixtape Hop, each of which surpassed 50,000 units in sales.
Chk Chk Boom has also registered success across major Anglo markets. It entered at No. 49 on the Billboard Hot 100, while peaking at No. 30 on the UK Official Singles Chart, highlighting the group’s expanding footprint beyond Asia.
Festival headliners signal Stray Kids’ global leap
The Stray Kids France milestone arrives as K-pop acts continue to push themselves into global live circuits. The JYP group is slated to headline major international festivals, including Governors Ball Music Festival, set to take place in June this year, while the Rock in Rio is going to take place in September 2026. Their constant public appearances and events confirm that Stray Kids are gradually evolving from chart performers to top-billed global acts.
Notably, the group has also been nominated for Best Male K-pop Artist alongside other internationally well-known K-pop groups like BTS, TXT, and ENHYPEN at the American Music Awards. This marked their second consecutive nomination at the ceremony, reinforcing their sustained presence within the US awards circuit.
