The upcoming To You in the Beyond anime film has unveiled its primary visual, teaser trailer, and main voice cast, with a Japanese theatrical release set for Oct 9, 2026. Produced by TMS Entertainment, the film adapts Akiko Abe’s novel. It introduces a character-driven mystery centered on a remote island encounter, with Shochiku handling distribution.
The teaser also confirms music details, core staff, and narrative setup ahead of its debut.
The visual carries the tagline, “That summer, I met a mysterious girl at the bay of Spiriting Away.” The wording reflects the moment Kazuki finds a girl unconscious near a secluded coastal inlet.

What Details Have Been Revealed About To You in the Beyond Anime Film?
Directed by Junichi Wada with a screenplay by Sayaka Kuwamura, the film features character designs by chief animation director, Hechima. Moreover, singer-songwriter Tota contributes the insert song Balsam, created specifically for the project.
The original novel was published by Shueisha under the Orange Bunko imprint, and a manga adaptation launched on Tonari no Young Jump in August 2025.
The story follows Kazuki, who transfers to a remote island high school and discovers Nanao, a girl without identification, near a cove rumored to be linked to disappearances. Takatsu takes her in, and Kazuki starts visiting her after school. As their bond grows, a revelation linked to her identity and the year “1974” alters their understanding.
