Evo Sets Early Reveal for 2026 Showcase Amid Structural Shifts

Evolution Championship Series (Evo) has confirmed that the 2026 Evo Announcement Show will air in early December, marking one of the earliest reveal timelines in the circuit’s recent history. Evo announced on Nov. 19 that the upcoming ‘Announcement Show’ will feature details about Evo 2026, Evo Japan 2026, and the returning Evo Awards. 

Generally, the announcement takes place within the first few months of the given year; however, the organization is releasing next year’s full competitive roadmap ahead of schedule. The Announcement Show will be taking place on Dec. 9, 2025, at 5 pm PT / 8 pm ET.

Evo is the biggest fighting game championship, featuring games like Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, and Guilty Gear Strive. Evo releasing the whole year roadmap ahead would compel other competitive circuits to follow Evo’s annual calendar for planning tournament cycles.

Evo’s Competitive Lineup Amidst Ownership Shift

While Evo is yet to announce the formats of its upcoming season, it has already been confirmed that Evo Japan 2026 will take place from May 1-3, 2026, and Evo USA 2026 is scheduled for Jun. 26-28, 2026. Evo USA will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

The schedule for the 2026 edition of the Evo Awards, which publicly recognizes competitive excellence, creators, talent, and community achievements, has yet to be announced. Evo will probably reveal the dates along with the other structural updates of the award ceremony in the 2026 Evo Announcement Show.

This restructuring follows the major leadership change earlier in 2025, when Qiddiya Investment Company, supported by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, acquired RTS, Evo’s parent company. The acquisition positioned Evo within a larger portfolio of esports and entertainment assets, with a focus on multi-regional expansion and financially scalable event models.

Evo’s regional expansion in Asia, Evo Singapore, has a 2027 date. The Dec. 9 Evo Announcement Show will reveal the operational and format changes under the new leadership.
