Cyberpunk TCG makes history: $26.9M raised!
Cyberpunk TCG Makes Tabletop History With $27M Campaign
WeirdCo and CDPR’s Cyberpunk TCG shatters records with $26.9M on Kickstarter, featuring Johnny Silverhand cards and a massive Night City tabletop expansion.
Highlights
- The Cyberpunk TCG raised a historic $26.9M on Kickstarter, becoming the most successful tabletop campaign ever.
- Players build decks featuring V and Johnny Silverhand, with backers receiving limited-edition Nova Rare cards.
- Launching alongside the TCG are the Chrome Rush arcade cabinet and the Edgerunners - Hunted board game.
The tabletop gaming landscape has a new, neon-drenched king. The official Cyberpunk Trading Card Game has officially closed its Kickstarter campaign, raising an astonishing $26,953,978 from 47,676 backers by the time the funding window ended on April 17, 2026. Developed by Seattle-based tabletop publisher WeirdCo, a studio founded on the deep human connection that TCGs create, in direct partnership with CD Projekt Red, the project shattered its modest $100,000 target in mere minutes when it launched in mid-March. This monumental achievement crowns the Cyberpunk physical release as the most successful trading card game campaign in Kickstarter history, exceeding its original funding goal nearly 27 times over.
The sheer scale of this success becomes even more apparent when looking at past heavyweights. Weeks before the campaign wrapped up, the Cyberpunk TCG dethroned the Cosmere Roleplaying Game, which previously held the tabletop record after raising $15.15 million USD from over 55,000 backers in August 2024. By comparison, WeirdCo's project blasted past early milestones in a blur, hitting $3M in under an hour and surging past $12M within a few days.
The explosive hype was fueled by a dedicated fanbase that was beautifully rebuilt following the post-launch redemption of the Cyberpunk 2077 video game and the massive cultural impact of the Edgerunners anime.

Deck-Building in Night City With Exclusive Cards
At its core, the game translates the gritty, high-stakes action of Night City into a strategic deck-building experience akin to industry giants like Magic: The Gathering and the Pokémon TCG. Players can build competitive crews featuring iconic faces brought to life through custom artwork, including V, Johnny Silverhand, David Martinez, and Lucy Kushinada. Because the community blew past every financial stretch goal faster than developers could outline them, WeirdCo continuously rewarded backers with premium upgrades.
This includes exclusive collector's items like a Foil Nova Rare V: Streetkid and the highly sought-after Nova Rare Rebecca “Having a Moment” card. While the majority of the cards will make their way to retail, these specific high-tier items are exclusive to the crowdfunding effort.
WeirdCo is actively leveraging this direct-to-consumer crowdfunding model to combat the rampant scalping that often plagues the modern trading card scene. The publisher guarantees that everyone who backed the Kickstarter will receive all the cards and add-ons they ordered thanks to a robust print-on-demand approach. This same guaranteed allocation pledge applies to all pre-orders placed through licensed distributors by May 1, 2026.
Retailer sign-ups are currently open at weirdco.net. For those eager to hit the streets, fans who qualified for express shipping by pledging $375 or more will see their orders arrive in the third quarter of 2026, while the second fulfillment wave is planned for the fourth quarter, as per GameRant.
The trading card game is just one piece of a massive expansion for the Cyberpunk universe in 2026. Fans can also look forward to the physical release of Cyberpunk 2077: Chrome Rush, a twin arcade cabinet featuring playable Yaiba Kusanagi motorcycle replicas developed alongside UNIS Technology, with May shipping.
Later in the year, CD Projekt Red is targeting a September launch for the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners - Hunted Board Game, marking the second major tabletop adaptation since the Gangs of Night City board game. Meanwhile, the next mainline video game sequel, code-named Project Orion, remains quietly in pre-production while the studio focuses on delivering the next installment of The Witcher first.
