Cyberpunk TCG smashes records with $13M+ on Kickstarter. You can now secure Legends cards, Netrunner kits, and the World Championship, as shipping begins in Q3 2026. Don’t miss out!
Highlights
- $13M+ raised by Cyberpunk, making it Kickstarter's most-funded TCG ever.
- Backers secure exclusive "Legends" cards and upgrades for 2026 shipping.
- Despite mixed gameplay reviews, creators are planning organized world championships.
Night City is officially expanding to the tabletop. Developed by tabletop studio WeirdCo in direct partnership with CD PROJEKT RED, the all-new official Cyberpunk Trading Card Game has taken Kickstarter by storm. Since launching on March 17, the crowdfunding campaign for the debut set, titled "Welcome to Night City," has raised over $13 million USD. This explosive momentum has officially crowned it the most-funded trading card game in Kickstarter history.
The financial ascent of this project has been nothing short of staggering. The campaign initially launched with a modest $100,000USD goal, which WeirdCo confirmed was completely obliterated in a mere five minutes. By March 26, the backing had skyrocketed past $13M, driven by an army of 17,732 supporters. This massive wave of funding comes at a time of the December 2025 hype trailer released by CD PROJEKT RED to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Cyberpunk 2077 video game.
For context, the RPG originally dropped on December 10, 2020, and is now a staple across platforms, playable on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and MacOS.

Unlocking Stretch Goals and Premium Tiers
Thanks to this overwhelming financial backing, supporters have successfully unlocked a massive wave of stretch goals. Backers throwing down their cash are securing premium upgrades to Beta Boxes—specifically those jumping in at the Netrunner Starter Kit tier and above. Fans are also getting fancy visual treatments for "Legends" cards, which feature iconic franchise heavyweights like V and Johnny Silverhand.
Premium backing options, like the highly sought-after Street Cred Pack, have drawn thousands of players eager to get their hands on exclusive display boxes and custom dice. To get these cards into players' hands, WeirdCo expects the physical products to ship out in two major waves, with the first kicking off in Q3 2026 and the second wave commencing in Q4 2026, as per Gosugamers.
Organized Play and the TCG World Championship
While the financial success is undeniable, the actual gaming community's reaction has been a mix of hype and cautious optimism. Reception to the gameplay itself is noticeably milder. Over on Reddit, people are already questioning if this explosive success is largely driven by speculators and collectors viewing trading card games purely as an investment rather than something to play.
Early previews show a game heavily inspired by classic card games like Magic: The Gathering and Duel Masters. It also sprinkles in some light tabletop role-playing elements, a nice nod to the franchise's pen-and-paper origins, which is likely reflective of a game still in its infancy.
Despite the cautious gameplay impressions, the creators are already thinking big about the game's future. The Kickstarter campaign outlines ambitious plans for organized play, promising local game store-centric "Night City Showdown" events, as well as a massive Cyberpunk TCG World Championship on the horizon. For those still looking to jack into the matrix and secure their decks, the crowdfunding campaign remains live on its Kickstarter page until April 18, 2026.
