Embark Studios Cuts Arc Raiders Prices in 15 Emerging Markets

Embark Studios reduced prices for its upcoming game Arc Raiders across 15 regions including India, Brazil, Thailand and Indonesia, the Stockholm-based developer said, as the gaming industry adapts pricing strategies for emerging markets.

The price adjustments, announced through the company's Discord server, take effect immediately with automatic refunds issued to customers who preordered at higher prices. The move reflects growing pressure on game publishers to tailor pricing to local purchasing power rather than applying uniform global rates.

Arc Raiders Regional Pricing: India Sees 28% Reduction on Steam

In India, the Standard Edition on Steam dropped to INR 2,467 from INR 3,449, while the Deluxe Edition fell to INR 3,700 from INR 5,199. PlayStation 5 preorders are available at INR 2,162, with Xbox Series X|S versions priced at INR 2,467. Similar reductions apply to markets including the Philippines, Malaysia and Taiwan.

The pricing revision comes as Embark Studios prepares for a server stress test Oct. 17-19 ahead of the game's Oct. 30, 2025, launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms. Arc Raiders, a free-to-play multiplayer extraction shooter, places players in a post-apocalyptic setting where they compete to gather resources while battling robotic enemies.

The regional pricing strategy underscores how game developers are increasingly segmenting global markets to expand their player base, particularly in regions where standard Western pricing can represent a significant portion of monthly income.
