Epic Games Files Lawsuit Against Contractor Over Fortnite Leaks
Epic alleges former contractor Hayden Cohen leaked unreleased Fortnite collaborations on social media.
Highlights
- Epic Games has filed a lawsuit against contractor Hayden Cohen over alleged Fortnite leaks.
- Cohen reportedly shared unreleased collaborations, including South Park and Solo Leveling, on X and Discord.
- Epic claims the disclosures violated a Sept 11, 2025, non-disclosure agreement and harmed partner relationships.
Epic Games has filed a lawsuit against a contractor it accuses of leaking confidential Fortnite information online. The case was filed Feb 5, 2026, in a North Carolina court. The complaint names Hayden Cohen, who ran social media accounts under the names AdiraFNInfo and AdiraFN.
According to the complaint, Cohen worked with Epic as an associate producer on projects including Fortnite. The company alleges he used knowledge gained during that work to reveal upcoming collaborations and development details before official announcements.
Epic states Cohen signed a non-disclosure agreement on Sept 11, 2025. Court filings say he began publishing unreleased information in January and February 2026 across X and Discord.
His X account had more than 13K followers before it was disabled about a week ago.
Epic Games’ Fortnite Leak Lawsuit Details
The complaint lists several alleged disclosures about planned Fortnite collaborations. These included partnerships involving Game of Thrones, Minecraft, Peak, Overwatch, South Park, and Kingdom Hearts.
Epic says Cohen posted about a South Park crossover two days before it was officially revealed. The lawsuit also claims he shared information about a Solo Leveling collaboration days before Epic confirmed the partnership in February 2026.
In a statement on X, Epic said it had taken legal action against a former contractor who “repeatedly leaked confidential partner IP and trade secrets” obtained while working with the company. The company added that such disclosures harm partners and complicates efforts to introduce new intellectual property in its games.
The company noted that it later removed Cohen’s access to internal systems. The company also sent a cease-and-desist letter on Feb 20, 2026, but claims he has not fully complied.
The lawsuit seeks action against Cohen for breach of contract, violations of North Carolina’s unfair competition law, and trade secret misappropriation. Epic argues the alleged leaks damaged partner relationships and reduced the impact of planned announcements.
Epic Games has previously pursued legal cases against Fortnite cheaters and leakers. The company also sued Apple and Google in separate disputes related to its business operations.
