Exit 8 Expands to Roblox Ahead of Theatrical Debut

A new Roblox version of The Exit 8 has launched ahead of the film adaptation’s April 10, 2026, theatrical debut. The release aligns with promotional efforts surrounding the movie distributed by NEON and introduces the concept to a broader audience.

The original game, developed by KOTAKE CREATE and published by PLAYISM, launched Nov 29, 2023, on Windows using Unreal Engine. It tasks players with navigating an endless underground corridor and carefully observing their surroundings to reach Exit 8.

Steam data shows a 90.56% positive rating from more than 10K reviews. The title combines exploration, immersive sim, puzzle, and walking simulator elements.

Roblox Release Extends Exit 8’s Anomaly-Focused Concept

The Roblox version preserves the first-person corridor design. The environment centers on long, uniform tiled corridors modeled after a Japanese subway. Progress depends on identifying small irregularities, and overlooking one sends players back to the starting point, maintaining the repeating progression loop.

The film follows the same premise: a man trapped in an infinite subway passage must locate Exit 8 while watching for irregularities. The rules dictate that any deviation from the norm must be carefully monitored, as mistakes will result in a return to the starting point.

The cast of the film includes Yamato Kochi, Kazunari Ninomiya, Naru Asanuma, Kotone Hanase, and Nana Komatsu. The screenplay is by Genki Kawamura and Kentaro Hirase.

The Roblox release expands the anomaly-driven concept, adding new irregularities while retaining the loop of the original psychological walking simulator.
