Fortnite x Stranger Things returns Nov 24 with 'Upside Down Blitz', new Eddie Munson skins, and the return of old favourites to celebrate Season 5.
Highlights
- Fortnite is launching a large Stranger Things crossover on November 24, 2025, ahead of the show's final season.
- The event will feature a new "Upside Down Blitz" game mode set in a Hawkins-themed environment.
- New skins, like Eddie Munson, are confirmed, and the original 2019 cosmetics are expected to return.
Get ready to return to Hawkins. Epic Games and Netflix have officially confirmed that a massive new Stranger Things collaboration is returning to Fortnite, with the event set to launch on November 24, 2025. This marks the second partnership between the two, but this new event is promised to be significantly larger. The collaboration is timed to build excitement for the fifth and final season of the hit Netflix series, which is scheduled to premiere just two days later on November 26.
The event's main attraction will be a complete takeover of the Blitz Royale game mode, titled "Upside Down Blitz". Players will drop into a dark and eerie version of Hawkins, featuring the infamous Mind Flayer looming over the island, as seen in a recently revealed trailer. This new environment will also feature exclusive weapons, along with special "boons and medallions" to fit the supernatural theme.
Blitz Royale, which first debuted as a limited-time event on June 18, 2025, is a fast-paced, 32-player mode on a small map that lasts about five minutes.
New Skins: Eddie Munson, Vecna, and Returning Favorites
A major focus of the crossover will be new cosmetics, with Netflix confirming "new outfits and accessories" are on the way. A new Peely skin styled after the beloved character Eddie Munson has already been spotted. This skin reportedly features a "The Seven" badge, which has sparked fan speculation about the return of The Seven faction in a future Fortnite chapter.
Beyond the Eddie skin, fans widely expect new skins for the main Party members—Mike, Will, Dustin, and Lucas—as well as for the series antagonist Vecna and fan favourite Steve Harrington.
The new event has also fueled widespread anticipation for the return of the original Stranger Things cosmetics. The skins for Eleven, Chief Hopper, and the Demogorgon, which have not been available in the Item Shop since 2019, are expected to finally return. It is likely these will be offered in complete cosmetic bundles that also include new emotes, back bling, and pickaxes.
This collaboration follows Fortnite's recent successful crossover with The Simpsons, an event Epic Games stated caused a sharp rise in new and returning players. Epic is clearly hoping to repeat that success, as the Stranger Things event is shaping up to be one of the game's biggest collaborations of the year.
