KRAFTON India and IIT Delhi Team Up to Empower the Next Generation of Game Developers

KRAFTON India teamed up with the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi during the university's annual Rendezvous festival to nurture the next generation of game creators, as the country's gaming industry races to transform from a consumer market into a production hub.

The South Korean gaming giant hosted a development challenge during the three-day event, which concludes Tuesday. Student teams built games from assigned prompts and pitched them to KRAFTON executives, with the top three entries earning spots in the company's third gaming incubator cohort.

Building India’s Next Wave of Game Creators

The incubator provides funding, mentorship and publishing support to fledgling studios, part of a broader push to help India develop original gaming content rather than simply import it.

"India is transitioning from being primarily a gaming market to becoming a center of creation," said Anuj Sahani, who heads KRAFTON's India Gaming Incubator. He said students increasingly want to design games and craft narratives, and programs like the IIT Delhi partnership help convert concepts into viable products.

The company also promoted its Early Talent Program during the festival, which offers students hands-on experience with live projects and connections to industry professionals.

KRAFTON's campus outreach reflects a broader industry effort to position India as a gaming production center with global reach, not merely a large audience for international titles.
