The Saudi Esports Federation (SEF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Riot Games to strengthen grassroots esports development across Saudi Arabia. The agreement was finalized in August 2025 during the New Sport Global Conference in Riyadh.
Under the Saudi Esports Federation-Riot Games MoU, the two organizations will collaborate on hosting community tournaments, introducing esports education in schools and universities, and creating inclusive spaces that encourage participation. The initiative is designed to support the development of esports talent in Saudi Arabia while expanding opportunities for players, creators, and fans.
Riot Games Expansion in Middle East Esports
Riot Games’ partnership with SEF marks another step in its expansion in Middle East esports, aligning with the Kingdom’s long-term goal of becoming a global gaming hub. According to SEF, combining resources with Riot Games will “empower young gamers and strengthen Saudi Arabia’s esports infrastructure.”
The collaboration also supports Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia’s national plan to diversify its economy through emerging industries like gaming and digital entertainment. By focusing on local engagement and education, the grassroots esports KSA program aims to cultivate a sustainable ecosystem that nurtures future professionals.
