Highlights

  • TSM exits VALORANT after five years, following a runner-up finish at the 2025 VCT Ascension Americas Grand Finals.
  • The team earned $22,000 in the finals and $25,000 from its Challengers NA Stage 3 victory earlier this year.
  • The decision comes amid Riot’s Tier 2 restructuring, prompting several teams to reassess their VALORANT involvement.

North American esports organization TSM has confirmed its departure from VALORANT after five years in competition. The announcement follows the team’s second-place finish at the 2025 VCT Ascension Americas Grand Finals on Oct. 26, 2025.

TSM shared the news in a social media statement, thanking Riot Games, past players, and fans, while noting there is “no immediate return in sight.”  The organization said it had spent several seasons competing in the Challengers circuit in pursuit of a Tier 1 slot before deciding to withdraw.

TSM reached the Ascension Americas Grand Finals, earning $22,000 after a 3-1 loss, and won VALORANT Challengers North America Stage 3 in September, taking home $25,000.

TSM VALORANT Journey and Competitive Legacy

TSM entered VALORANT in May 2020 with a roster of former Counter-Strike professionals, becoming one of North America’s early contenders. Despite consistent efforts, the team never reached the top-tier VALORANT Champions Tour.

The organization’s exit aligns with ongoing changes to VALORANT’s Tier 2 structure. Riot Games has implemented new promotion-relegation systems and expanded its Game Changers program to improve progression for teams. These adjustments have led several organizations to scale back or re-evaluate participation in the Challengers competition.

TSM’s withdrawal highlights the shifting economics and structure of VALORANT’s secondary tier. The organization continues to compete in other titles, including Apex Legends, Halo, and Rocket League, as it refocuses resources toward sustainable esports projects.
