  • Deadline is BLACKPINK's first EP in more than three years, following Born Pink in 2022.
  • The album comes as the group is set to close its Deadline world tour in Japan and Hong Kong.
  • The release coincides with the current concert boom that has driven live-music income to new heights worldwide.

BLACKPINK revealed on Thursday that its third EP, Deadline, will be released on Feb 27, 2026, marking the end of a more than three-year hiatus since the group's last full-length release and the wrap-up of their latest world tour titled with the same name (Deadline). Since July 2025, BLACKPINK’s current world tour has rocked venues worldwide.

On its official blog, YG Entertainment shared a teaser announcing the release date and title. Reportedly, the label informed that the group finished major production work, including music video filming in late 2025, but delayed the release to further refine the record. Korea Times cited YG’s quote, which stated, “We sincerely thank fans for their patience over the long wait.” Additionally, the agency plans “to repay their support with highly refined music and ask for continued interest.”

BLACKPINK Returns With First EP Since Born Pink

Deadline will be BLACKPINK's first EP following Born Pink in Sep 2022 and solo endeavors by each member in between. Prior to the release of the complete EP, the track Jump came out as a pre-release in July 2025, which became the group's third No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200, while also breaking streaming records.

According to Billboard Year-End Boxscore Top Tours chart for 2023, BLACKPINK’s Born Pink tour amassed $148.3 million USD across 29 shows, with an attendance of 703,000. On the other hand, YG Entertainment reported that BLACKPINK set a new record for a K-pop girl group world tour, attracting over 1.8M attendees across 34 cities, amounting to 66 shows in total, during the same tour.

BLACKPINK's EP release and final tour dates of their ongoing Deadline world tour, which include performances at Tokyo Dome and Hong Kong's Kai Tak Stadium in late Jan 2026 (Jan 24 to Jan 26), situates the band to capitalize on an upgraded live-music market that has seen worldwide touring earnings surge in the last few years.

As per recent industry reports, major global tours now routinely sell hundreds of millions of tickets each year, with K-pop stars playing a significant role in this growth. Deadline hits at an exciting period in BLACKPINK's career, as the band shifts from large group touring to a new recording phase that combines profitability with creative progress.
