K-pop Acts in Governors Ball 2026: Stray Kids, Jennie, KATSEYE

The 2026 lineup suggests U.S. festivals are no longer testing K-pop’s pull, they’re factoring it in.

  • Stray Kids' closing act on the second day reflects K-pop’s expanded role in top-tier U.S. festivals.
  • Governors Ball’s 2026 lineup presumably reflects current Billboard-driven consumption trends.
  • The 2026 lineup shift suggests festivals are prioritising globally scalable acts over legacy genre anchors.

The Governors Ball Music Festival has announced a roster that reflects the universality of live music festivals. It will include hip-hop, indie, and K-pop superstars for its June 5-7, 2026 edition at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens.

At the Governors Ball Music Festival, Stray Kids will perform the closing act on its second night, that is, Saturday, June 6, 2026, marking one of the most significant positions for a K-pop group at Governors Ball thus far. The band has maintained commercial strength in the United States, with recent chart successes including a Billboard 200 re-entry for their album DO IT.

Additionally, DO IT came at No. 1 on the Billboard World Albums chart, along with KARMA at No. 2. Also, Stray Kids’ returning catalog titles 合 (HOP), ATE, ★★★★★ (5-STAR), and ROCK-STAR occupied slots throughout the top 25 of the Billboard World Albums chart.

Furthermore, BLACKPINK's Jennie will perform on Sunday, June 7. According to Billboard and Pitchfork, Jennie is among the strongest artists after headliners such as Lorde (June 5, Friday) and A$AP Rocky. Her solo career, highlighted by festival appearances at Coachella and good streaming performance for releases in 2025, establishes her as a major solo artist apart from her work with BLACKPINK.

K-Pop’s Rising Weight in a Once Genre-Bound Festival

The festival's first day, Friday, June 5, will feature HYBE’s KATSEYE after Lorde’s act. Despite being newer than other bands, KATSEYE's participation shows the industry's bigger gamble on pop crossover appeal. Their Billboard Hot 100 appearance earlier in January 2026 indicates commercial traction.

Other than K-pop artists, Governors Ball's 2026 lineup also includes performances by Baby Keem, Kali Uchis, Geese, Wet Leg, and Major Lazer, showcasing trends ranging from indie music to R&B.

The presence of K-pop and related artists on major North American festival stages demonstrates an intentional change in live programming towards Gen-Z consumption patterns. Previous Governors Ball rosters included hip-hop, pop and indie artists like Tyler, the Creator, Olivia Rodrigo, and Hozier.

However, the 2026 list broadens that focus significantly, perhaps positioning the festival to attract both worldwide streaming audiences and live event spenders. The Governors Ball 2026 presale begins Thursday, Jan 8, at 10 a.m. EST. General on-sale will also start an hour later, at 11 a.m. EST.
