Highlights

  • One Piece has become the first Japanese anime franchise to receive a permanent installation at Musée Grévin Paris.
  • The 80-square-meter exhibit features all 10 Straw Hat Pirates as life-size wax figures in a Parisian-themed setting.
  • Visitors can enjoy exclusive One Piece collaboration merchandise, including a limited promotional One Piece Card Game card.

Grévin is one of Europe’s oldest wax museums with 250 figures spanning famous people and celebrities,  located at 10 Boulevard Montmartre, 75009 Paris. The One Piece exhibition brought 10 Straw Hat crew members from the franchise to Grévin Museum’s famous wax statue collections.

The installation occupies approximately 80 square meters and recreates the Straw Hat Pirates in a Parisian-inspired cabaret setting. Unlike temporary anime pop-up events and touring displays, Grévin’s decision to grant the One Piece exhibition a permanent status carries a cultural significance for Japanese entertainment properties.

Grévin’s “Héros de fiction” section already includes animated Western properties; One Piece marks the first time a Japanese anime title has earned that permanent distinction.

Grévin Museum One Piece Exhibition: What Visitors Can Expect

Visitors will find life-size displays inspired by the world of One Piece, including recreated environments and character statues designed for photo opportunities. All 10 Straw Hat crew members get dedicated wax statues, including Luffy, Sanji, Zoro, Chopper, Nami, and Usopp.

As per Grévin’s disclosure, the figures were constructed in Japan under joint supervision from Toei and Grévin to faithfully replicate each character’s appearance, expressions, and proportions. The museum committee additionally supervised the Parisian setting, which the exhibition is themed on.

Along with the life-size fan-favourite character statues, Grévin’s One Piece exhibition will also distribute special ONE PIECE x Grévin Museum collaborative illustrations. Additionally, the first 50K ticketholders will each receive an exclusive One Piece Card Game promotional card featuring Monkey D. Luffy (OP13-001).

The card distribution is limited; it will continue at the museum while stock lasts. Children under five, who are admitted without a ticket, will receive a One Piece x Grévin commemorative sticker at the entrance.

The museum described the One Piece collaboration as an opportunity to celebrate one of the world’s most influential manga and anime franchises as it introduces its characters to a broad international audience. The Grévin exhibit arrives as One Piece gradually evolves into a multimedia franchise.

Alongside its long-running anime, the franchise has already expanded across films, Netflix live-action adaptation, games, and merchandising businesses. While temporary physical activations are hosted in Japan, the permanent exhibition at Grévin will give the One Piece franchise a lasting physical presence in one of Europe’s best-known museums.
