It looks like the magic hasn't worn off just yet. Jam City’s hit mobile RPG, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, has crossed the 160 million lifetime download mark globally. This massive milestone arrives perfectly timed for the game's eighth anniversary this April, proving that the Wizarding World still holds a strong grip on the mobile gaming market.
To give a sense of just how dedicated this community is, the developer shared some staggering new engagement stats. Since the game originally launched back in 2018, players have collectively spent over 100.7B minutes immersed in the game, according to a Pocket Gamer.biz report. That’s a sharp jump from the 94B minutes the studio reported just last year during its seven-year celebration.
Fans aren't just hanging around for a few classes and dropping out, either. According to Jam City, more than 14% of the total player base has put in the work to successfully graduate from Hogwarts. These dedicated players have progressed directly into the game’s ambitious post-graduation storyline, Beyond Hogwarts, which already boasts an impressive catalog of over 240 main quest chapters.

Anniversary Events and Beyond Hogwarts Volume 3
To keep the momentum going, Jam City kicked off a month-long slate of anniversary events starting on April 1. Players logging in can expect a variety of anniversary-themed rewards customized to their specific Hogwarts House, alongside brand-new story-driven quests and limited-time challenges. The studio is also mixing in seasonal activities tied to moments like Earth Day as the month rolls on.
For the alumni who have already finished their schooling, the update cycle has something major on the horizon. A brand-new chapter, Beyond Hogwarts Volume 3, is officially scheduled to launch on April 15. This update will continue the game’s evolving narrative, letting players transition from student life into navigating the wider wizarding world as adults.
In an official statement addressing the milestone, the development team expressed deep gratitude to their community. Jam City noted that eight years of the game means eight years of friendships, magical creatures, and unforgettable adventures. "Whether you've been with us since your first day at Hogwarts or joined the journey more recently, your story is part of it all," the studio shared, promising that there is still plenty waiting "beyond the castle gates."
To put this steady growth into perspective, older data from Sensor Tower showed the title had reached 82M downloads by 2021 before eventually sailing past the $500 USD million gross revenue mark in 2024. If these new numbers are anything to go by, this mobile powerhouse isn't slowing down anytime soon.
