Nintendo Switch 2 owners will gain access to the full Kingdom Hearts storyline this fall as Square Enix brings three major collections to the platform. Kingdom Hearts 4 is also coming to the system.

Announced during the June 9, 2026, Nintendo Direct, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind will release for Nintendo Switch 2 on Oct 8, 2026. A bundled edition containing all three packages, titled Kingdom Hearts Collection [I-III], will launch on the same day.

The release marks the first time Nintendo players will be able to experience the series through native versions. Earlier Kingdom Hearts releases on the original Nintendo Switch were cloud editions that required streaming because of the hardware's limitations.

Square Enix confirmed that saved data from those versions can be transferred to the Switch 2 releases.

Kingdom Hearts Collection Brings the Series' Main Story to Switch 2

The collection spans every major chapter of the franchise's Dark Seeker Saga.

According to Nintendo's eShop listing, the digital bundle is priced at $74.99 USD. Players who purchase it will receive the platform-exclusive Long Night Keyblade. Nintendo also noted that owners of all Kingdom Hearts Cloud titles or the Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece for Cloud can receive a 50% discount on the Switch 2 native versions and the bundled collection.

A free demo of Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind is scheduled to become available on the Nintendo eShop.

The announcement trailer describes the collection as a journey with Sora, Donald, and Goofy across Disney and Pixar worlds. Throughout the adventure, players battle darkness using the Keyblade while forming friendships with an iconic cast of characters. Nintendo positioned the release as a suitable starting point for newcomers while also serving longtime fans looking to revisit the series.

Kingdom Hearts 4 Reappears With New Gameplay Footage

Square Enix also delivered a fresh look at Kingdom Hearts 4, which was first revealed during the franchise's 20th anniversary celebration in 2022.

The new trailer showed gameplay set in the city of Quadratum and offered another glimpse at protagonist Sora's next journey. The official description states that the action role-playing game (RPG) will introduce new characters and abilities as Sora explores the mysterious city and other worlds.

Likewise, Nintendo confirmed that Kingdom Hearts 4 will be available on Switch 2 at launch, although a release window has not been announced.

The announcements mark the franchise's most significant presence on a Nintendo platform to date, bringing the complete Kingdom Hearts story to Switch 2. They also ensure Nintendo players will be able to continue the series when the next mainline installment arrives.
