Mojang Studios has announced a global event for Minecraft Dungeons II beginning Sep 17, 2026. Players can help fight a giant blue creeper unleashed by the Illager High Council, with participation available at Tokyo Game Show, inside Minecraft, and through YouTube.
What Does the Minecraft Dungeons II Event Involve?
The Illager High Council is tearing open rifts between worlds through the Sift, a new dimension filled with unfamiliar locations and threats. The group includes the Supreme Evoker, Prime Enchanter, and Grand Illusioner, who seek control across two worlds.
The campaign starts at 10 am JST on Sep 17, which is 6:30 am IST in India, 2 am BST in the U.K., 9 pm EDT on Sep 16 in New York, and 6 pm PDT on Sep 16 in Los Angeles.
Players can participate through:
- Tokyo Game Show: Visitors can attack the giant blue creeper at the Minecraft Dungeons II booth.
- Minecraft: Bedrock Edition players can defeat creepers in Survival or Creative mode.
- YouTube: Users can join through a dedicated Minecraft effect.
The official Minecraft announcement describes the campaign as a time to "rise up and fight" as the sequel approaches.
Minecraft Dungeons II Release Date, Platforms, and Price
Minecraft Dungeons II launches Sep 29, 2026, for Windows 10/11, Xbox Series X|S, supported handhelds, Steam, cloud, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. It will be available through Game Pass on day one and supports Xbox Play Anywhere.
- Standard Edition: $29.99 USD, including the base game.
- Deluxe Edition: $49.99, with four hero skins, a Blub pet, a Soul cape, and DLC 1 and 2 as released.
- Pre-order bonuses: A twisted cape, two hero skins, and a twisted chicken pet.
The action-adventure RPG supports online co-op, single-player, and couch co-op for up to four players. Combat includes melee and ranged attacks, armor, customizable gear, shields, weapons, and enchantments.
