Highlights

  • Pokémon Sleep hit $234.9 million in lifetime player spending on its third anniversary, driven by steady engagement and loyal audiences.
  • The Latios and Soul Dew event shattered single-day records, generating $543,000 in 24 hours on June 9, 2026.
  • To celebrate the milestone, The Pokémon Company launched Nap Island alongside plans for the Cyan Beach (Expert) zone expansion.

Pokémon Sleep has officially generated $234.9 million USD in lifetime player spending since its global release in July 2023, cementing its status as one of The Pokémon Company’s most reliable mobile successes outside of Pokémon GO. Celebrating its third official global anniversary today, the gamified bedtime tracker continues to prove that rewarding gamers for a consistent sleep schedule is a highly lucrative business model that defies the typical post-launch drop-off seen in casual utility apps.

During its third year on the market, global players spent a combined $68.2M within the app. According to AppMagic market intelligence estimates, this represents a minor 3.2% year-over-year decline, demonstrating that the rate of revenue deceleration has slowed dramatically compared to its earlier launch windows. The app brought in close to $100M during its first year. This steady, predictable stream of revenue indicates that the game has successfully locked in a dedicated long-term audience.

Over the past twelve months, the game maintained an average of approximately $5.7M in gross player spending per month, with three separate months breaking the $6M threshold. December 2025 stood as the third year’s most lucrative month, grossing nearly $6.7M globally.

This surge was powered by the Holiday 2025 event that kicked off on December 22, introducing festive Santa-hat variants of Pikachu and Eevee alongside boosted encounter rates for Ice-type Pokémon. That holiday update triggered an immediate 91% day-over-day revenue jump, eventually peaking at $491,000 in a single day on December 28.

Legendary Latios & Soul Dew Event Shatters Single-Day Revenue Record

That winter record was recently shattered during another major content drop, giving year three its highest single-day revenue peak. On June 9, 2026, Pokémon Sleep pulled in an astounding $543,000 in 24 hours at the start of the Latios and Soul Dew event. Powered by players eager to catch the elusive Legendary Eon Pokémon, June 2026 became the second-highest grossing month of year three, generating just under $6.6M in total spending. An earlier revenue spike occurred on September 8, 2025, when the Legendary trio of Raikou, Entei, and Suicune returned in unison. That September event pushed daily spending up by 67% to $281,000, ultimately peaking at $378,000 on September 9.

Japan remains the undisputed regional powerhouse behind the app's ongoing momentum, consistently contributing the lion's share of revenue. During the game's first year alone, when it clocked 9.8M global downloads, Japanese gamers accounted for $73M in spending, easily outstripping the United States and Taiwan, which generated $15M and $4M respectively, as per Pocketgamer.biz.

To commemorate the three-year milestone, The Pokémon Company introduced Nap Island today, a new gameplay feature allowing players to send their captured Pokémon to accompany Munchlax, the pre-evolution of the app's central mascot, Snorlax. Creatures stationed on the island passively accumulate up to 150 experience points each day.

Players can also purchase an in-game Relaxing Nap Ticket to make the stay even more rewarding, granting an extra 450 EXP each day for seven days. Looking ahead, the developers plan to expand the endgame on August 10 with the introduction of Cyan Beach (Expert), a challenging new zone designed to offer greater rewards for dedicated mobile gamers.
