Remedy Entertainment has filed a trademark for Control: Resonant, suggesting a new project tied to the franchise may be nearing announcement. The filing, first spotted by MP1st, was submitted on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025, under categories covering computer gaming software and digital entertainment.
The application was made in Finland by Nordia Attorneys at Law, the same firm that has handled Remedy’s past trademarks.
While the listing does not specify the project’s form, it includes classifications for game software, marketing materials, and entertainment production such as “TV series and cinematographic films,” indicating multiple possible directions.

Control: Resonant Filing Points to Possible Game Reveal or Screen Adaptation
Resonant appears at a time when Remedy is expanding its Control roadmap. Control 2, co-financed with Annapurna Interactive, entered full production earlier this year. The studio previously described the sequel as an action RPG but gave no further details.
Meanwhile, Annapurna has also announced plans to bring Remedy IP to “film, TV and beyond,” which keeps the possibility open that Resonant relates to a screen adaptation instead of a game project.
The timing adds weight to industry speculation, as with The Game Awards (TGA) scheduled for Dec. 11, 2025, and Remedy regularly participating in the event, the trademark has increased expectations of a reveal. The filing also arrives during a surge of pre-TGA activity across the industry, which strengthens the sense that announcement plans are forming.
The original Control remains one of Remedy’s most acclaimed releases. Recent challenges, including the poor launch performance of FBC: Firebreak, resulted in a profit warning and CEO Tero Virtala's immediate exit.
Even so, the Resonant filing is the clearest indication that Remedy is preparing its next major step for the Control universe.
