As the open-world action RPG Wuthering Waves sails closer to its highly anticipated second anniversary, developer Kuro Games has confirmed a colossal collaboration event. Launching on April 30, 2026, the Version 3.3 update—officially titled Reverbs From the End of Galaxies—will introduce high-profile crossovers with iconic gaming and anime properties. Players can look forward to integrating elements from Rovio's Angry Birds, Capcom's Resident Evil and Pragmata, Ubisoft's Riders Republic, and hit manga/anime series Kaiju No. 8 and Haikyu!! right into their gameplay.

These exciting crossovers will center entirely on customizable cosmetic designs and liveries for the game's Expedition Motorbike, an open-world traversal vehicle introduced last December in the major 3.0 update. The sprawling event, titled "Crossworld Sync," will roll out in two distinct phases just under a month before the game's anniversary. The first drop honors the 30th anniversary of Resident Evil by bringing fan-favorites Leon Kennedy and Ada Wong to the bike liveries. They will be joined by Kafka Hibino and Soshiro Hoshina from Kaiju No. 8, alongside an Angry Birds crossover featuring mobile gaming icons Red, Chuck, and Bomb next to the franchise's classic logo.

The second phase of the event keeps the momentum going with cosmetics based on Capcom's new sci-fi release Pragmata, specifically highlighting the android Diana. Liveries embodying the extreme sports game Riders Republic and the volleyball anime Haikyu!!—featuring Hinata Shoyo and Kageyama Tobio—will round out the back half of the event.

Expanding Brand Deals and Collaborations

Since its introduction, the Expedition Motorbike has unlocked massive collaboration potential. The vehicle can be decorated with various designs, leading to new opportunities for brand deals. This began with Persona and Sonic the Hedgehog crossovers, which aimed to showcase the sheer flexibility of the Wuthering Waves world.

"Our players were pleasantly surprised by the collaboration, and we received lots of positive feedback," the Kuro Games team noted regarding the initial 3.0 crossovers. "We'll continue exploring crossover collaborations with more franchises in the future,” as per Pocketgamer.biz.

Beyond the stylish new rides, Version 3.3 brings serious gameplay utility. The update heavily overhauls the motorbike itself, adding a brand-new aerial mode and an aerial tactics module. This upgrade will be essential for navigating Dimmr Plains, a newly introduced underground map section built entirely around vertical traversal, luminous forests, and floating platforms.

New 5-Star Resonators and Performance Enhancements

The patch also introduces three new main quests, UI updates, and crucial performance enhancements like mobile frame generation, specifically targeted at mid-range devices. Additionally, players will have the chance to pull for two new 5-Star Resonators: the Glacio-wielding Special Response Force member Hiyuki, and the Fusion-wielding Startorch Academy student Denia. They will arrive alongside powerful new weapons like Frostburn and Forged Dwarf Star.

To celebrate the free-to-play gacha title's ongoing success, which includes a dedicated global player base, 30 million downloads early in its lifecycle, and nearly $40 million by 2024 in mobile revenue, Kuro Games is generously rewarding the community. Players can look forward to various free rewards, including up to forty free pulls, exclusive titles, outfit accessories, and anniversary login bonuses.

The festivities will even spill into the real world later in 2026. A massive concert series and world tour called To the New World has been teased, setting the stage for a massive summer. This global celebration will bring the game's music and limited-time events to fans in Shanghai, Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, Singapore, and Los Angeles, exploring the To the New World Chapter Huanglong Original Soundtrack (OST) album, which came out in September 2024.
