Highlights

  • With Arirang crossing 4 billion Spotify streams at record speed, BTS now has 8 albums that topped the 4-billion-stream mark.
  • The ongoing North American stadium run across Boston and four additional U.S. cities, alongside Toronto, potentially drove streaming growth.
  • Google also launched a 60-second co-branded campaign at the Las Vegas Sphere to promote its Gemini AI features using the group's visual identity.

BTS's fifth studio album, ARIRANG, has surpassed 4 billion plays on Spotify, becoming the fifth fastest album in global music history to reach the benchmark. Besides, the milestone also made them the fastest Asian act to hit the mark, thus making the album BTS’ 8th project to cross the streaming figure.

Amidst this group success, individual members are also generating streaming volume on competing platforms. Notably, Seven (feat. Latto), Jungkook’s lead single from his debut solo album GOLDEN, recently topped 1.3B plays on YouTube Music, making it the first debut track by an Asian male artist to do so.

Can Streaming Make BTS’ Massive Tour Even Bigger?

The streaming surge coincides with BTS' North American leg of their ARIRANG world tour. Usually, active tour windows produce sustained uplifts in catalog consumption, bolstered by algorithmic placement and fan engagement. After the second show in Boston concluded on Thursday (August 6, 2026), the group is set to move through four more U.S. cities before ending the regional run in Toronto.

BTS x Google Gemini Takes Over Las Vegas Sphere

The commercial reach of the release has also expanded into corporate tech partnerships. Notably, Google launched a 60-second teaser campaign running till August 8, 2026, at the Las Vegas Sphere, pairing its Gemini AI features with BTS' IP, like visual motifs from their latest album. The display activation also reportedly features South Korean landmarks and highlights a wider push by tech companies to use high-reach cultural assets to boost consumer awareness of their services, like generative AI tools.
