  • With minimal visuals and aesthetics, EVAN a.k.a Heeseung launches his new Instagram ID.
  • The new Instagram ID signals the creation of fan engagement before any new project is announced by the artist or the agency.
  • Heeseung’s departure highlights a move that is becoming remarkably common among newer idols.

Lee Hee-seung, who was formerly part of the K-pop group ENHYPEN, has officially launched a solo career under the name “EVAN.” The move, announced by BELIFT LAB on April 8 earlier this month, marks a major reset of both his identity and sound after he departed the group on March 10, 2026.

The rebranding began with the rollout of new social media channels like Instagram and a set of photos, showcasing a "stripped-back" aesthetic through minimal styling, understated makeup, and neutral tones. The visuals reportedly intend to depict the artist in what the agency describes as his “purest” and “most unfiltered” form.

Industry observers believe the transition is rooted in personal continuity instead of a manufactured concept. Simultaneously, the artist also confirmed that “EVAN” is a name he has cherished since childhood. Following extensive internal discussions at BELIFT LAB, it was determined that Heeseung, now EVAN, should chase his own musical direction, instead of remaining a member of ENHYPEN, which was formed through the idol survival show I-LAND in 2020.

Heeseung’s New Persona Shows an Industry-wide Pivot

Although ENHYPEN remains operational as a six-member act maintaining its global touring dominance, the move represents an overall foundational shakeup. In an industry where solo projects often run in parallel with group activities, BELIFT LAB’s choice of a full distinction illustrates a rising pattern among acts seeking brand clarity and IP ownership in a saturated global market. Such moves are particularly visible amongst the fourth-generation groups, where total decoupling like Heeseung remains somewhat uncommon.

Even though the former ENHYPEN member has launched a new Instagram account, no debut time period or specific musical genre has been officially confirmed. The Instagram account, which has only two posts, follows back only BELIFT LAB at the moment. Market experts believe that this Instagram approach is most definitely created to enable direct engagement with fans till something new is announced. Additionally, it seems that the current rollout emphasizes identity positioning over immediate output, effectively testing the strength of Heeseung’s individual brand equity as of now.
