ENHYPEN rises on Billboard after Heeseung’s exit
ENHYPEN Jumps 92 Spots on Billboard Amid Heeseung's Exit
ENHYPEN ranks at 43 on Billboard 200 as the group navigates without Heeseung in its six-member era, marking a pivotal shift in its global momentum.
- ENHYPEN reached No. 2 in World Albums and No. 6 in Top Album Sales, bolstering chart momentum.
- Heeseung apologizes to members while following a solo route, prompting an emotional fan response.
- ENHYPEN's global demand despite a lineup shift indicates that its brand is still durable as a six-member ensemble.
ENHYPEN is managing a high-stakes shift as THE SIN: VANISH, the group's final effort as a seven-member group, makes a strong late-cycle push up the global charts. Their seventh mini-album, which was released on January 16, 2026, jumped 92 ranks to No. 43 on the Billboard 200 this week. This increase extends its chart residency to nine weeks, aided by a first-week sales floor of 2 million copies after a 1.65 million-copy debut day.
Chart Gains and Revenue Strength Show ENHYPEN’s Market Power
ENHYPEN's forward movement remains strong across sub-metrics, with the album at No. 2 on World Albums and No. 6 on Top Album Sales, with the group rising to No. 40 on the Artist 100. This persistent demand indicates K-pop's overall export durability, which has helped propel worldwide recorded music revenues. ENHYPEN has been a major profit engine for HYBE and its affiliate BELIFT LAB. Moneycontrol reported that the group made over $76.1 million USD across 25 shows from touring in 2025, resulting in BELIFT's recent quarterly revenue of ₩114 billion (~ $77.8M) in 2025 (data from Q3 2025 report) and HYBE's annual top line of ₩2.65 trillion (~ $1.86B).
However, Lee Heeseung's departure has disrupted HYBE's business stability, which had been supported by BTS' Arirang era. On March 10, BELIFT LAB announced Heeseung's departure to pursue a solo career, claiming a "distinctive musical vision" and "differences in musical direction" following a six-year stint. While the group is remodeling as a six-member ensemble, Heeseung continues with the label as a solo artist.

Nonetheless, there has been large-scale tension during the transition. Alleged erroneous information about HYBE's ownership structure caused real-world disruptions, including widespread inquiries to South Korea's National Pension Service. However, according to Reuters, NPS maintained a 7.54% stake in HYBE as of September, 2025. Amidst this, Kim Sung-joo, chairman and CEO of the $900 billion pension fund, clarified that the NPS is not involved in K-pop group formation or membership difficulties. He encouraged ENHYPEN fans to refrain from further disrupting company services, citing the inconvenience caused to workers seeking pension advice in South Korea and abroad.
Heeseung Pivots Solo Amid ENHYPEN’s Success
Following Heeseung's exit, fan reaction remains mixed, notably during a fan call event. Despite being pre-planned, the hybrid branding and continuous use of Heeseung's likeness in group-related merch items sparked anger from certain fans.
Speaking during the fan call event, Heeseung hailed his voyage as "precious beyond words," but he also simultaneously acknowledged the emotional gravity of the divide. "I feel sorry for the members," he told fans, adding that while the change was unexpected, he is focusing on a "new beginning" with a solo project that is planned to be released soon. He admits to feeling "apologetic" during the turning point, but insisted that the move was important to have a clear, and unique creative identity.
This dual-track path, ENHYPEN's chart durability, and Heeseung's immediate solo debut reflect a strategy that is increasingly becoming common among fourth-generation Korean pop stars in the industry. The entire industry remains curious as Heeseung shifts from the group's multi-million pace into a solo breakthrough. As of now, ENHYPEN's rise on the Billboard 200 demonstrates that, even as the lineup changes, the brand's commercial appeal remains strong
