Jujutsu Kaisen has solidified its position in manga history. As revealed during Jump Festa 2026, Gege Akutami's dark fantasy manga series has now sold 150 million copies, while ranking ninth globally. With this, Jujutsu Kaisen enters the all-time world’s best-selling manga list, alongside decades-defining classics like One Piece, Dragon Ball, and many more.
The achievement is remarkable given that Jujutsu Kaisen's main manga run ended in 2024. Despite the conclusion of the tale, the series has retained a strong readership momentum, boosted by continuous anime adaptations and persistent global attention.
As per industry reports, Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the world’s most-watched anime, with demand over 70 times higher than the average TV show. Additionally, last year, it was reportedly the most popular anime, surpassing One Piece.
One Piece Still Leads Manga Sales as AoT Lags Behind Jujutsu Kaisen
According to current data, One Piece by Eiichiro Oda remains the clear industry leader, with over 500M copies sold. Its size continues to dominate the rest of the field. Followed by One Piece is Golgo 13, which sold about 300M copies. Stalwart manga like Case Closed, Dragon Ball, Naruto, and Demon Slayer come next, with each of them selling over 200M copies. In comparison to that, Slam Dunk and Kochikame have sold over 150M copies, with AoT trailing behind at 140M copies.
Jujutsu Kaisen's inclusion on this list demonstrates its quick growth from a current shōnen sensation to a franchise with a global impact. The series' blend of supernatural action and character-driven storytelling propelled it to commercial success in just a few years, rivaling well-established classics.
In the future, the franchise's profile is expected to rise even higher. The planned anime adaptation of the Culling Game Arc Part 1 is set to premiere on Jan 8, 2026, and is anticipated to generate renewed interest in both the streaming and print sectors.
A compilation film Jujutsu Kaisen: EXECUTION, which includes highlights from previous arcs and a sneak peek at the upcoming season, has already hit theaters in key regions like the U.K., U.S. The film launched in the U.K. on Nov 14, while the U.S. opening took place on Dec 5, 2025. Meanwhile, in Japan, the film grossed over ¥1.5B yen (about $9.7M), with overseas box office totals constantly increasing. As for the Indian fans, Jujutsu Kaisen: EXECUTION was supposed to release on Dec 3, 2025; however, major Indian ticketing platforms like District show the release date to be Jan 8, 2026.
Jujutsu Kaisen's rating demonstrates how fresh manga publications can reach historic sales levels considerably more quickly than old gems. While long-running franchises continue to dominate the top tiers, the series stands out as a current example of how anime-led global distribution and international releases are altering manga's commercial environment.
