Highlights

  • After releasing several BTS concert movies, HYBE is set to release a KATSEYE documentary film ahead of their next global chapter.
  • The KATSEYE movie will offer fans a rare look at the group's journey through never-before-seen footage, fan videos, and exclusive interviews.
  • Tickets for KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS will go on sale worldwide on July 15.

Global girl group KATSEYE is expanding its multimedia footprint into global cinemas with KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS, which is set to debut worldwide on August 12, 2026. The KATSEYE movie arrives just two days before they are scheduled to drop their highly anticipated WILD EP

The theatrical release of the KATSEYE cinema suggests HYBE's wider strategy of using documentary and concert films to support major music releases and tours. The company has previously released several similar pieces of content related to BTS, many of which performed strongly at the global box office. The HYBE x Geffen joint venture’s theatrical endeavor also serves as a mobilizer to bring their global EYEKONS fandom together ahead of their release.

KATSEYE WILD HEARTS Film Will Trace Their Journey Post Dream Academy Success?

The KATSEYE film, directed by Nadia Hallgren, is produced by Interscope Films and Boardwalk Pictures. The documentary film will follow KATSEYE's journey from the 2023 Dream Academy contest to its rise as one of the top global girl groups. The all-female ensemble’s pre-debut journey was earlier showcased via Netflix's Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE, which introduced viewers to the members and competitors before their debut. The current lineup of the group is composed of Daniela Avanzini, Yoonchae, Sophia Laforteza, Lara Raj, Megan Skinediel, and Manon Bannerman. At present, Bannerman is on hiatus due to health reasons.

As per the description of the movie, the film will additionally feature “never-before-seen footage, EYEKONS fan videos, and intimate interviews from the group members,” while also exploring “the powerful bond between KATSEYE and their global fandom.”

According to a statement cited by Billboard, Kymberli Frueh, Executive Vice President of programming and content acquisitions at distributor Trafalgar Releasing, said, “We are excited to bring the fandom together in theaters around the world for a shared, immersive experience.” Notably, the KATSEYE WILD HEARTS theater tickets will be available from July 15 worldwide, and retail platforms are reportedly bracing for a high demand for the showcase.

The Film Sets the Stage for KATSEYE WILD EP & Wildworld Tour Launch

The theatrical push rounds off the group’s successful summer run, which includes notable chart momentum after last year’s Beautiful Chaos EP became widely popular. KATSEYE recently ranked No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 with their single Pinky Up. Additionally, their collaborative song with LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT titled Iconic By Mistake, reached No. 38 on the same chart.

With the KATSEYE WILD EP release nearing in August 2026, anticipation among fans is steadily growing worldwide. As it seems, the theatrical release will act as the final step before the KATSEYE Wildworld global arena tour launches, which will begin on September 1 at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.
