Streaming giant Netflix has released a trailer previewing BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG, a livestream event tied to the South Korean band’s upcoming album. The first BTS album in three years, Arirang will release on March 20, 2021, and the livestream on Netflix will follow on March 21.
BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG will take place in Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Square. Aligning with BTS’ Arirang performance, Netflix will start the livestream at 8 pm KST (4 am PT/ 7 am ET). The Tudum announcement emphasized that it will be simulcast globally to make the event accessible for fans all over the world.
The trailer, released on March 5, shows the seven members welcoming fans to their “homecoming” live performance event. Netflix Tudum has noted BTS’ return on stage as “a global moment,” highlighting the significance of the event.
Netflix’s BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG Livestream
The livestream special, titled BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG, will debut on Netflix as part of a promotional rollout for the group’s fifth and latest album, Arirang. Hamish Hamilton, known for directing Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show and Grammys 2026, is helming the live concert special.
Production company Done + Dusted is behind the program. Renowned veteran producers, such as Garrett English, Guy Carrington, Kevin Hermanson, HYBE, and BIGHIT MUSIC, will executive-produce the show.
To celebrate BTS' comeback and the Arirang release, Netflix is also releasing a documentary, BTS: THE RETURN. The documentary, tracing the journey of making the new album, will premiere on March 27, 2026.
The ARIRANG Livestream is a Highly-Anticipated Global K-Pop Event
BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG live performance carries broader significance for K-Pop in the global music market. BTS, formed by Hybe Corporation subsidiary Big Hit Music, has helped drive K-pop into the Western mainstream media in the past decade. Their numerous achievements include multiple No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and record-breaking streaming numbers on platforms such as YouTube and Spotify.
The ARIRANG live performance is followed by BTS WORLD TOUR ARIRANG, which starts in South Korea on April 9, 2026. The yearlong tour will cover 34 cities across 23 countries before hosting the last show in Manila, Philippines.
