The $1.87 Billion Return: BTS’s Arirang Tour projected to anchor HYBE’s 2026 recovery.
BTS World Tour May Hit $1.87B, Nearing Taylor Swift's $2B Mark
Financial analysts predict HYBE could generate up to $1.87 billion from BTS' 82-show stadium run, with operating profit projected to increase roughly tenfold year-on-year.
- BTS will embark on an 82-show Arirang World Tour across 34 cities in 23 countries, with total attendance projected between 5 and 5.2 million.
- South Korean analysts project between 1.9 and 2.1 trillion won (~$1.3 billion to $1.87 billion) in tour revenue from ticket sales, merchandise, and high-capacity 360-degree stage layouts.
- BTS’ Arirang World Tour is expected to anchor HYBE's 2026 revenue recovery phase this year with a roughly 10x year-on-year increase.
BTS' 2026-2027 Arirang World Tour could become the most lucrative concert series in K-pop history. South Korean financial analysts now project the 82-show run across 34 cities will generate up to 2 trillion won, or roughly $1.4 billion, in total revenue, with some estimates reaching as high as $1.87 billion when factoring in expanded dates and ancillary spending. That would put the tour within range of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, which grossed $2.07 billion across 149 concerts and sold 10.1 million tickets.
For context, Coldplay's Music of the Spheres tour has grossed $1.52 billion from 13.1 million tickets. Elton John's Farewell Yellow Brick Road earned $939 million, and Ed Sheeran's Mathematics Tour brought in $876 million. If the higher BTS projections hold, the group would approach Swift's benchmark in roughly half the number of shows.

BTS Arirang World Tour 2026: 82 Shows Across 34 Cities
The Arirang World Tour opens on April 9, 11, and 12 at South Korea's Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium and will span four continents. Major stops include four nights at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, two at Tokyo Dome, and dates at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. The tour is also BTS' first extended run in South America, with two-night shows in Colombia, Peru, Chile, and Argentina and a three-night stand in Brazil.
According to AFP, analysts have steadily raised their projections as new dates are confirmed. IBK Securities analyst Kim Yu-hyeok estimates 2 trillion won in revenue and over 400 billion won in operating profit, based on projected attendance of 5.22 million with an average of roughly 64,000 per show. Those figures are up from an initial projection of 4.5 million total attendees when the tour was first announced in January.
Hwang Ji-won at IM Securities projects 1 trillion to 1.4 trillion won (roughly $700 million to $1 billion) in ticket sales alone, with additional merchandise revenue of up to 500 billion won (about $346 million). Total show count could exceed 100 once yet-to-be-announced 2027 dates in Japan and the Middle East are included. Separately, Song Ji-won of Heungkuk Securities estimates at least 88 performances, with 5.12 million in attendance during 2026 alone.
A 360-degree "in the round" stage design is expected to increase per-show capacity by eliminating restricted-view seating. Per-fan spending should also rise with a new ARMY Bomb light stick designed for the tour, a product that could become a standalone merchandise revenue line.
Based on this momentum, Korea JoongAng Daily reported that analysts are increasing their forecast figures. IBK's Kim Yu-hyuk conservatively forecasts a 2.7 trillion won (~ $1.87 billion) revenue and 487 billion won (~ $338.19M) operating profit, fueled by 6 million attendees averaging 64,000 each show, up from early estimates of 4.5 million. On the other hand, Hwang Ji-won of IM Securities forecasts 1.5 trillion won (~ $1.04 billion to $1.1 billion) in ticket sales and 500 billion won (~ $346 million) in merchandise, with over 100 gigs planned after yet-to-be-revealed 2027 dates. Meanwhile, Song Ji-won of Heungkuk Securities predicts at least 88 BTS world tour performances, with 5.12 million attendance in 2026 alone.
This extraordinary gross potential of BTS is further enhanced by a 360-degree "in the round" stage design that avoids restricted-view seats to increase capacity. Furthermore, per-fan revenue is expected to increase because of a recently introduced fourth-generation light stick with tour-exclusive synchronization.
How BTS' Comeback Tour Could Drive HYBE's Tenfold Profit Rebound in 2026
The tour's financial impact will land squarely on HYBE's balance sheet. BTS' parent company posted record revenue of 2.65 trillion won (about $1.86 billion) in 2025, with concert sales accounting for 763.9 billion won. HYBE's fourth-quarter operating profit, however, fell 93% after costs tied to new artist debuts including Santos Bravos and CORTIS, and a roughly 200 billion won impairment charge from restructuring its North American operations.
Analysts have since raised their 2026 forecasts sharply. According to FnGuide consensus estimates reported by KED Global, HYBE's 2026 revenue is expected to jump 47% year-on-year to 3.87 trillion won, with operating profit projected at 480 billion won — roughly a tenfold increase from 2025's 49.9 billion won. Multiple brokerages including Kiwoom Securities, LS Securities, and IBK Investment & Securities raised their target prices for HYBE stock after the tour announcement.
HYBE's other acts, including ENHYPEN, TXT, ILLIT, KATSEYE, and the newly debuted CORTIS, will add touring and recorded-music revenue throughout 2026. But analysts agree that the BTS tour will be the company's main profit source through at least the second quarter of 2027, when the tour's later legs are expected to wrap.
