Highlights

  • Jennie headlined Lollapalooza Chicago's Bud Light Stage on August 1, becoming the first Korean female solo artist to perform at the festival.
  • The lineup featured tracks from Ruby while debuting two previously unheard songs, particularly at the event.
  • The Chicago appearance follows her Coachella set and comes ahead of her scheduled Summer Sonic performances in Japan.

BLACKPINK’s Jennie took the stage at Grant Park's Bud Light Stage on Saturday, August 1, 2026, closing the third night of Lollapalooza Chicago. The hour-long show, which started at 08:55 p.m. CT (around 7:25 a.m. IST the next day), solidified Jennie as the first female Korean soloist to headline the festival.

Organizers estimated overall attendance for the four-day event between 400,000 and 460,000 attendees, rounding off at a daily venue capacity of 115,000, as per industry estimates. "To see you guys in front of my eyes, it feels like a dream," Jennie told the audience as the performance commenced, according to The Rolling Stone Philippines.

A Festival Showcase for Jennie’s Next Phase?

The Lollapalooza 2026 Grant Park performance highlighted the wide commercial expansion of Odd Atelier, the management company Jennie set up after initiating her solo career. Distributed through Columbia Records under Sony Music Entertainment, her debut studio album Ruby, released on March 7, 2025, produced streaming hits like Mantra and like JENNIE, with the latter becoming Spotify's most-streamed K-pop track during the first half of 2025. Notably, these songs were also included in the 18-song set alongside previews of her potential next project.

According to The Rolling Stone Philippines, "I have some new songs that I haven't released," said Jennie to the audience before performing, Sweet Tooth and Fallen Angel, alongside Lock It Down and Heaven. Although Lock It Down and Heaven had already been introduced live at the 2026 Governors Ball and Open'er Festival, Sweet Tooth and Fallen Angel seemingly received their first-ever live performances at Lollapalooza.

All four songs remain officially unreleased, with fans anticipating that the songs remain a part of a massive upcoming solo project from Jennie, post her Ruby success. Notably, Jennie also performed Less than a Lover, released in late July 2026, which topped major charts in China and Korea, alongside her world famous collab with Tame Impala, Dracula (JENNIE Remix).

The Solo Festival Footprint of The BLACKPINK Member

This year’s appearance marks Jennie’s third participation at Lollapalooza Chicago, after group performances with BLACKPINK in 2019 and 2023. Her solo Lollapalooza slot comes after a main-stage engagement at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April 2025, with her international festival schedule continuing later this month with headline performances at Summer Sonic in Tokyo and Osaka.
