Premium Bandai Relaunches Fan-Favorite Gundam Model

Premium Bandai has announced a reissue of the MG 1/100 GM Sniper II [White Dingo Team Custom], marking a quiet return of a fan favorite unit in the Gundam franchise. The reintroduced long-range mobile suit is sleek in its looks, with a white and dark blue color design complementing it. 

Gundam's GM Sniper II, launched in Japan in 2017, is a 1/100-scale Master Grade kit that improves grunt-suit modeling with a meticulously detailed inner structure and robust articulation. The mobile suit is well-known for its ability to maintain dynamic firing positions and expressive poses. The kit includes its iconic 75 mm sniper rifle, a bullpup machine gun, shield, dual beam sabers, and several hand alternatives for display diversity.

However, the new reissued model stands out with a newly designed Vulcan pod, thus setting it apart from previous Master Grade models. The unit also has a special shield and larger weaponry. The equipment it uses includes a Hyper Bazooka, a Beam Rifle, a 90 mm bullpup machine gun, a 100 mm machine gun, and a long-range Beam Rifle, as well as beam sabers and a special manipulator.

Gundam's White Dingo Team model also excels in articulation compared to its peers. The mecha has a twisting waist, a flexible neck joint, and a shoulder assembly that extends and rotates, enabling a variety of dynamic poses.

The MG Sniper II White Dingo Team mobile suit was originally featured in the video game Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story 0079: Rise From the Ashes. This Universal Century-era video game lets players control the White Dingo team and concludes with the RGM-79SP GM Sniper II. The game's story was then eventually developed into two novels titled Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: At the Site of the Fallen Colony, which expand on the same UC 0079 One Year War premise.

Pre-orders for the MG Sniper II are currently live, with Premium Bandai offering the kit overseas for $50 USD until Feb 15, 2026. Whereas, shipping is expected for Mar 2026. Nearly 26 years after the debut of Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story 0079: Rise From the Ashes, Bandai has reintroduced the MG Sniper II [White Dingo Team Custom] series. The reissue not only caters to long-time collectors but also highlights underrepresented Master Grade kits, leading to a reignition of global interest in classic UC-era Gunpla.
