  • COD Mobile’s Season 6 introduces Gundam crossover with mech combat, themed cosmetics, and new gameplay modes.

  • Players can battle in 4v4 Gundam TDM with jet boosts, special weapons, and third-person perspective.

  • Free Gundam-themed rewards include weapons, gear, and emotes via events and challenges throughout the season.

Call of Duty: Mobile (CODM) officially announced a major crossover with the Gundam franchise, launching Season 6 ‘Gundams Arrive’ on July 2, 2025, at 5 PM PT. The collaboration will introduce full-scale mech combat mechanics, themed challenges, and branded cosmetic bundles to the mobile FPS, according to an official announcement on the game’s Reddit account.

“We are thrilled to reveal that Gundam x CODM coming in Season 6! More details on the way over the weekend and throughout next week as we get closer to the new season,” the company wrote.

A limited-time 4v4 Gundam Team Deathmatch mode will let players pilot Gundam-themed operators, including Ethan — Freedom Gundam, Reaper — Sazabi Gundam, Proton — v Gundamo, and Deathscythe Gundam (EW), in mech duels on a dedicated space-station map. Each unit features vertical jets, unique weapon systems, and special abilities. Instead of normal Loadout weapons, each Gundam will come with its own special abilities and weapons. The mode will also feature third-person perspective instead of the game’s usual first-person camera.

The company will offer free Gundam-themed content through a ‘Survival of the Fittest’ challenge, including the J358 Fin Funnel v Gundam weapon, Haro-themed gear, new emotes, camos, and more. Additional events during the collaboration will provide seasonal rewards through login events and check-ins.

Players can purchase Gundam Operator skins and weapon blueprints via two Series Armories store offers. Completing both yields exclusive rewards.

This marks the second major Gundam integration for the Call of Duty franchise. Previously, Gundam mobile suits were introduced as cosmetic bundles in Modern Warfare III and Warzone in 2023. It featured RX-78‑2, Zaku II, and Gundam Aerial, with tracer packs, weapon stickers, animated cards, decals, and finishers. The latest CODM integration builds on that template by incorporating gameplay mechanics.

The partnership coincides with the 30th anniversary of Gundam Wing, which debuted in 1995. In April earlier this year, the franchise launched crossovers with another Activision Blizzard title, Overwatch 2, which introduced mecha-themed skins and cosmetic gear to the hero shooter.

Aside from Gundam, the CODM Season 6 Battle Pass brings new sci-fi-themed operators and weapon blueprints, while the Challenge Pass adds tasks that unlock signature attachments and additional cosmetic items. Additionally, a Double Challenge Pass event will run throughout the season.

Gundam’s collaboration with COD Mobile follows a chain of other successful crossovers between Japanese anime IPs and popular mobile games. PUBG Mobile has a history of collaborating with anime like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Jujutsu Kaisen, Spy × Family, and Dragon Ball Super. Free Fire has also hosted crossover events with the likes of Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba), One Punch Man, Attack on Titan, and Naruto Shippuden, being its largest anime IP partnership to date.
