Highlights

  • The Silent Hill f manga adaptation will feature a new ending by the game’s writer Ryukishi07.
  • The adaptation supports Konami's Silent Hill revival strategy, extending the franchise into manga as part of the company’s IP expansion.
  • Following strong sales and reception, the manga adaptation reflects Silent Hill f’s growing influence in horror storytelling.

Konami has officially announced a Silent Hill f manga adaptation featuring a newly written ending, on March 25, 2026. As confirmed via the game's official X post, the adaptation will be serialized on Kadokawa's digital platform Young Ace UP, featuring illustrator Gokin Ame’s artworks.

Crucially, the announcement confirms that the Silent Hill f  manga will not entirely follow the game’s narrative. Ryukishi07 is known for previously working on the popular horror visual novel, Higurashi When They Cry.

However, Konami hasn’t detailed specific narrative changes for the upcoming manga. Before Silent Hill f's launch, Ryukishi07 described the game's script as the most demanding work of his career, stating, “I don't think I would mind if it was the last thing I ever wrote.” With him writing an alternate ending, the upcoming adaptation can be seen as an evolving property of the game, instead of a direct adaptation.

The project was announced exactly six months after the game's September 25, 2025, launch, positioning it as a half-year anniversary celebration of Silent Hill f release.

Silent Hill f Manga Adaptation Reflects Silent Hill Franchise Revival

The upcoming Silent Hill f manga adaptation also coincides with Konami’s earlier stance to revive the Silent Hill franchise. In late 2025, the series producer Motoi Okamoto stated they are weighing a one-title-per-year strategy for the IP.

Silent Hill f accelerated the franchise momentum after selling one million copies on its launch day, while earning an 86% critical score on Metacritic. The title surpassed its franchise predecessor, the Silent Hill 2 remake. The horror title was also nominated in three categories, including “Best Narrative,” at The Game Awards 2025.

The gameplay gained popularity due to its layered storytelling that follows a Japanese teenager, Hinako, and psychological horror elements set in 1960s Japan. “Through the lens of SILENT HILL f, players dive into a haunting narrative,” Konami stated previously. Currently, the series offers five different endings, with each depending on different narrative choices of the players.

While Konami’s decision to introduce an alternate ending for Silent Hill f is not an isolated incident, how Ryukishi07 reimagines his own work while satisfying the game’s fandom remains to be seen. As of writing, no serialization date has been disclosed; Konami stated that additional information will follow.
