Konami and Annapurna Interactive have released the first Silent Hill: Townfall trailer. It confirms that the psychological horror title will be played entirely in a first-person perspective. Silent Hill: Townfall was first announced in October 2022, and is being developed by Screen Burn (formerly NoCode), creators of Stories Untold and Observation.
The gameplay reveal was published Feb. 12, 2026, via the official PlayStation Blog and was also featured during State of Play 2026, with wishlists opening the same day on the PlayStation Store.
The trailer introduces protagonist Simon Ordell, who returns to St. Amelia island to “put things right,” navigating a fog-covered town while uncovering fragments of his past. The footage continues the CRTV broadcast imagery first teased in 2022.
Silent Hill: Townfall 2026 Trailer Details, CRTV Mechanics, and Combat Systems
A central focus in the Silent Hill: Townfall details is the CRTV, a handheld device reimagining the series’ iconic radio.
Writer and director, Jon McKellan, said the team aimed to modernize the tool through retro interface design. He added this meant “drawing on our previous experience designing interactive ‘retro’ user interfaces and VHS-style aesthetics” to evolve the series’ handheld radio concept.
Unlike the passive radio, the CRTV detects signals, reveals threats, and aids puzzle navigation. While the first-person view shapes exploration and close-range encounters.
Combat includes melee and ranged weapons, though stealth, evasion, and environmental tactics remain equally vital. Enemies dynamically hunt players using sensory tracking, encouraging adaptive strategies such as hiding or distraction.
Meanwhile, the PlayStation 5 version integrates DualSense features to heighten tension through haptic feedback during encounters.
Producer Motoi Okamoto mentioned that the game retains Silent Hill’s narrative depth, psychological horror tone, and puzzle design despite its new setting. While the Silent Hill: Townfall release date remains unconfirmed, further updates are expected as marketing ramps up toward March 2026.
