MPL Indonesia S15 Viewership Makes It a Top 10 Esports Event
MPL ID Season 15 peaked at 4.13M viewers, becoming one of the top 10 most-watched esports events ever.
ONIC Esports won the $298K tournament after a three-month run, defeating RRQ Hoshi in the Grand Final.
TikTok Live viewership hit 1.53M, signaling major growth in mobile-first and short-form esports consumption.
An Indonesian Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament drew a peak audience of 4.13 million concurrent viewers, making it one of the ten most-watched esports events of all time, according to Esports Charts. MPL Indonesia Season 15 concluded after three months of competition, in which ONIC Esports claimed the champion’s share of a $298,000 prize pool.
Esports Charts data shows, the Grand Final between ONIC Esports and RRQ Hoshi peaked at 4.13 million concurrent viewers, topping the 3.9 million peak from Season 14 and making it the second MPL split to exceed four million viewers. Average concurrent viewership was 488,526, down from Season 14’s 511,551, while total watch hours reached 113 million, marking another strong run for the region.
Streaming data reveals YouTube as the primary source of viewership, pulling nearly 2.5 million concurrent viewers in key matches. TikTok Live also achieved 1.53 million peak viewers overall and an Indonesian record of 1.4 million. TikTok’s share of watch hours climbed to 30.7 percent from 21 percent in Season 13. The data suggests that short‑form platforms and mobile‑first viewing are rising in importance.
Season 15 also shows that stable team franchises and headline matchups can drive both peak and average viewership. RRQ Hoshi’s progress to the finals illustrated the pull of established names. RRQ Hoshi appeared in the season's five most-watched matches before losing to ONIC Esports 4-3 in the final. However, the tight series kept viewers tuned in. ONIC’s win earned the team $81,537 and qualification for the Mid-Season Cup 2025 at the Esports World Cup alongside RRQ.
As per figures released by Esports Charts, this season’s 4.13 million peak put it among the ten highest‑watched esports events ever and it is the only non‑global championship to reach that level. It ranks as the third‑most‑watched Mobile Legends event behind the M4 and M5 World Championships. The result overtook the ESL Snapdragon Pro Series: Mobile Masters 2025 as the biggest event of the first half of the year. Season 15 also became the fourth Indonesian split in a row to pass 100 million watch hours, showing consistent viewer demand and the strength of the franchise model.
Next up is the Mid Season Cup 2025, running July 10 to August 2. Indonesian teams will look to extend their run on the international stage and set new records. As the competition calendar moves toward the Esports World Cup later in the year, the figures from MPL Indonesia Season 15 will serve as benchmarks for both regional and global leagues trying to win audience attention in a crowded market.
