Get ready for the next big adventure. Bandai Namco has officially confirmed that a brand-new Dragon Ball game project is on the way, with the announcement shared on the official Dragon Ball Games X account. The game will be unveiled on Saturday, January 25, 2026, during a massive fan festival in Japan.

The reveal is scheduled to take place at the "Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri" one-day event, which celebrates the 40th anniversary of the franchise. This celebration is being held at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. Fans worldwide can tune in for the "New Game Super Announcement Stage", which will broadcast live at 11:00 a.m. JST (7:30 a.m. IST).

This is a completely new title, not just DLC or an update for an existing game. Details such as the game's official title, genre, or target platforms have not been made public yet.

New Dragon Ball Game Reveal

This announcement comes after a very active year for the franchise. The most recent release was Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra, a 4v4 team battle action developed by Ganbarion that launched in September 2025. Before that, Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO launched in 2024 as the long-awaited successor to the Budokai Tenkaichi series, featuring a roster of 180 characters, destructible stages, and a Custom Battle mode.

With so many Dragon Ball titles released over the years, fan speculation is already running wild. Many in the community are hoping this could finally be Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. Other popular theories suggest a new open-world action RPG, a return to the Budokai or Raging Blast series, or perhaps a new mobile release.

The 40th-anniversary celebration, which kicked off in 2024, celebrates the series' history since the manga first appeared. This entire anniversary period has been marked by the tragic passing of series creator Akira Toriyama, who died on March 1, 2024. The franchise he built has inspired a wide range of games since 1984, including fighters, RPGs, and platformers.

The event will feature appearances from franchise legends, including Masako Nozawa (voice of Goku) and Akio Iyoku, the franchise’s executive producer and head of Capsule Corporation Tokyo.
