Highlights

  • BlizzCon 2026 returns Sept. 12 to 13 in Anaheim, featuring major showcases across Warcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch after a two-year hiatus.
  • World of Warcraft’s The Last Titan, Classic+ speculation, and multiple esports championships headline this year’s expanded programming.
  • Microsoft and Blizzard’s first fully aligned BlizzCon may outline long-term plans, including Game Pass strategy and potential new franchise direction.

Blizzard will bring BlizzCon back on Sept. 12 to 13, 2026, in Anaheim, CA, ending a two-year break for its flagship fan event. The last convention was held in 2023; anticipation for updates across World of Warcraft (WoW), Diablo, Overwatch, and other Blizzard franchises has surged since then. The return is shaping up to be the studio’s most content-packed BlizzCon in years.

BlizzCon has historically served as the stage for Blizzard’s biggest reveals, including Overwatch (2014) and Diablo 4 (2019).

The 2023 event, held just after Microsoft completed its acquisition of Activision Blizzard King, delivered routine updates but lacked headline announcements. With the acquisition now fully integrated, BlizzCon 2026 becomes the first event where Blizzard and Microsoft present a unified roadmap.

BlizzCon 2026 Signals Blizzard’s Most Anticipated Lineup Yet

A major focus will be World of Warcraft (WoW), which will have launched its Midnight expansion before the event. BlizzCon 2026 is widely expected to feature the full reveal of The Last Titan, the conclusion to the Worldsoul Saga. The World of Warcraft (WoW) community is also watching for clarity on Classic+, a potential evolution of the "Vanilla" experience with new content built in the spirit of the original 2004 game.

This year’s event also features a stacked on-site lineup, including:

  • Opening Ceremony: Major announcements and reveals
  • Developer Panels: Behind-the-scenes insights
  • Blizzard Arcade: Games from past and present
  • Hands-On Gameplay: Upcoming content demos
  • Darkmoon Faire and Community Night
  • Esports events, including the WoW Arena World Championship, Mythic Dungeon International, Overwatch World Cup, Hearthstone Masters Tour World Championship, and the Warcraft Rumble Blizzard Classic Cup

Additional attractions include the Hearthstone Tavern, portfolio and resume reviews, the March of the Murlocs, and the BlizzCon Store.

Beyond regular franchise updates for Diablo 4, Overwatch 2, Hearthstone, and Diablo Immortal, the community is asking whether Blizzard might revive dormant series like Warcraft or StarCraft, especially following the cancellation of the long-rumored MMO Titan.

BlizzCon 2026 arrives at a pivotal moment for Blizzard and Microsoft, with questions surrounding the future of Game Pass after recent price hikes and integration plans across studios.

For Blizzard, the event serves as a chance to reset expectations, highlight its post-acquisition direction, and show fans what comes next for its most influential universes.
