The first-ever Gamescom Asia x Thailand Game Show drew 206,159 visitors from 95 countries between October 16 and 19 at Bangkok’s Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The event set new attendance records for both Gamescom Asia and the Thailand Game Show.

Formed through the merger of two major gaming showcases, the event aimed to “solidify Thailand’s position as a premier gaming hub in the Asian region,” according to the organizers. The collaboration sought to unite creativity, innovation, and community under the theme "World of Gaming," highlighting Southeast Asia’s expanding role in the global industry.

The business area hosted 5,590 industry professionals from 81 countries, featuring 71 speakers across four stages. In total, 294 exhibitors and country pavilions participated, including major names such as Bandai Namco, Capcom, HoYoverse, Konami, Sega, Ubisoft, Tencent, The Pokémon Company, and Xbox.

Thailand’s Minister of Commerce, Suphajee Suthumpun, said she was “deeply impressed to see both Thai and international game developers embracing the beauty of Thailand as the backdrop and characters in their games.”

She noted that the event generated over 1.22 billion THB ($37.2 million) in business value, underscoring Thailand’s growing soft power in global entertainment.
