Jujutsu Kaisen Culling Game Part 1 Finale Gets Extended Runtime

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: The Culling Game Part 1 will end on March 26, 2026. The anime’s official website confirmed that the finale will be an extended 27-minute episode. The 12th episode will air late night at 24:26 JST. The official announcement describes it as a “main story expanded special,” positioning it as a longer finale.

It will serve as the 59th overall episode of the series.

The season began Jan 8, 2026, with a one-hour premiere combining its first two episodes. It aired on the “Super Animeism TURBO” block across MBS, TBS, and affiliated networks. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime worldwide, excluding Asia.

Jujutsu Kaisen Culling Game Part 1: Production, Music, and Release Context

Shōta Goshozono directs the season at MAPPA, with Hiroshi Seko overseeing scripts. Yosuke Yajima and Hiromi Niwa handle character design, while Yoshimasa Terui composes the score. King Gnu performs the opening theme, AIZO, and jo0ji performs the ending theme, Yoake no Uta.

The extended finale follows recent franchise releases, alongside details on the Jujutsu Kaisen Culling Game Part 1 release date. The compilation film Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution opened in Japan on Nov 7 across IMAX and standard screens. It combines the Season 2 “Shibuya Incident” arc with the opening episodes of Season 3. It ranked No. 1 in its opening weekend and earned about 639.7 million yen (~$4.04 million USD) in its first three days.

Earlier entries include the 24-episode first season in October 2020 and the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 film in December 2021, which was later released in North America in March 2022. Season 2 followed in 2023, running for two cours and adapting the “Hidden Inventory / Premature Death” and “Shibuya Incident” arcs.

A compilation film titled Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie also opened in May 2025 and ranked No. 4 in its debut weekend.

Based on Gege Akutami’s manga, the series was serialized from March 2018 to September 2024. It continues its rollout across formats, with the extended finale marking a transition point within the Jujutsu Kaisen Culling Game arc.
