Highlights

  • The first-ever transfer window lets BGMI teams trade, sign, or release players from Oct. 1 to Nov. 15, 2025.
  • Verified owners or in-game leaders manage all transfers through the KRAFTON India Esports Dashboard, with rosters locked for tournaments.
  • Two annual windows, a live leaderboard, and a ₹200 crore investment aim to professionalize Indian esports, offering stability and strategic clarity.

KRAFTON India has opened the first formal player transfer window for Battlegrounds Mobile India, bringing structure to a mobile esports scene that has long operated without roster regulations.

The transfer window, running Oct. 1 through Nov. 15, allows teams to sign, trade or release players during designated periods. The system mirrors cricket's Indian Premier League or European football transfers. Previously, BGMI roster changes occurred informally, without standardized timelines or oversight.

"It gives players and clubs a clear, transparent framework to manage rosters efficiently and responsibly," said Karan Pathak, associate director of esports at KRAFTON India. The company aims to build "a more sustainable and globally aligned esports ecosystem."

How the BGMI Transfer Window Works for Teams and Players

Under the new system, each club operates through a verified owner or in-game leader who manages transfers via KRAFTON's esports dashboard. All player movements require company approval, and rosters lock once confirmed for sanctioned tournaments. Teams failing to comply face potential disqualification.

KRAFTON has established two annual transfer periods aligned with major competitions. The first runs October through March or April, coinciding with the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series. The second extends April through September during the Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series.

The company plans to launch a live leaderboard tracking performance across India's estimated 300,000 to 400,000 BGMI squads, allowing fans to monitor team rankings throughout the season.

KRAFTON has invested more than INR 200 crore in India since 2021, funding gaming startups and tournaments. With BGMI surpassing 240 million downloads, the transfer window represents the latest effort to professionalize Indian mobile esports and provide stability for players and strategic clarity for organizations.
