  • The webOS rollout integrates the Xbox app, strengthening LG’s cloud-gaming partnership with Microsoft.

South Korean technology giant LG Electronics has rolled out Xbox Cloud Gaming on its smart TVs in India through a new Gaming Portal update. The feature is available on LG models released between 2021 and 2025, allowing Xbox Game Pass subscribers to stream games without owning an Xbox console.

The rollout follows Microsoft’s decision to switch on Xbox Cloud Gaming in India, expanding the number of big-screen devices able to run Game Pass titles through cloud streaming. With the update, LG becomes one of the major TV brands in the region to support the service natively.

Xbox Cloud Gaming on LG TVs: Access Through the New Gaming Portal

The Gaming Portal consolidates cloud gaming services, recently played titles, and webOS app games in one interface. Through the Xbox app inside the portal, users can stream Game Pass titles, including Forza Horizon 5, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Raji: An Ancient Epic, and upcoming releases such as Avowed. Select owned titles like NBA 2K25 and Hogwarts Legacy are also compatible via cloud play.

To start, users need a supported LG webOS TV, a stable internet connection, a Bluetooth controller, and an active Xbox Game Pass plan. Microsoft offers three monthly tiers in India: Essential at ₹499 ($ 5.60), Premium at ₹699 (~$7.9), and Ultimate at ₹1,389 (~$15.9).

Update Available Through the Latest Software Rollout

The Gaming Portal appears automatically on the home screen once the latest software update is installed. LG says the integration is part of its partnership with Xbox to widen access to cloud-based gaming across its TV range.

“We are thrilled to announce the partnership with Xbox,” said Chris Jo, senior vice president of platform business at the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company.

Xbox Cloud Gaming is also supported on PCs, smartphones, Samsung TVs, Windows handheld devices, and Amazon Fire TV products. LG’s addition gives Indian users another direct route into the Xbox ecosystem, strengthening the shift toward hardware-free gaming and expanding access to major titles on larger screens.
