Highlights
- Lionsgate officially confirmed the development of a high-budget John Wick AAA game and a new Saw title.
- The studio is shifting strategy to bring its biggest film franchises into the premium gaming market.
- Unlike past adaptations, the upcoming John Wick AAA game promises a large-scale action experience.
Lionsgate has officially confirmed that high-budget video game adaptations for two of its biggest franchises. John Wick and Saw, both are now currently in the works. The announcement came from Adam Fogelson, Chairman of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, during the studio’s Q2 2026 earnings call in Nov 2025. This move signals a major expansion for the company as it looks to bring its popular film universes into the interactive entertainment sector with premium AAA experiences.
Fogelson addressed investors during the call, which reported $475 million USD in revenue, stating that the studio is making strong progress on its gaming initiatives. As reported by Tech4Gamer, he revealed that official announcements for these projects would be made soon. He specifically noted that they have "AAA game opportunities and other gaming opportunities around John Wick and Saw," are advancing on schedule.
This confirms a strategic shift for the studio, aiming to create meaningfully additive financial opportunities by investing in large-scale games rather than simple licensing deals to keep audiences engaged long after theatrical runs end.

AAA Ambitions for John Wick and Saw
The confirmation of a John Wick AAA title aligns with long-standing ambitions at Lionsgate. Back in 2023, CEO Jon Feltheimer told investors that the company believed there was a "big AAA game to be made out of John Wick" and had been fielding proposals to move that forward.
The franchise, which has grossed over a billion dollars globally, previously saw a video game adaptation with 2019’s John Wick Hex. However, that title was a tactical strategy game rather than the large-scale action experience many hoped for. The upcoming project is expected to capture the visceral "gun-fu" combat style of the films, finally delivering the high-octane action adaptation that fans have long demanded.
Details regarding the Saw project are slightly more guarded, though it appears to be a key pillar of Lionsgate's strategy to maintain a regular cadence of content. Unlike John Wick, the Saw franchise has seen two previous action-horror adaptations, though both received mixed critical reception.
While fans await more specifics on these Lionsgate titles, the horror gaming genre remains busy, with Hellraiser Revival anticipated in 2026 and Paranormal Activity Threshold from DarkStone Digital also on the horizon.
