The M7 World Championship has set a new record for MLBB (Mobile Legends: Bang Bang) esports, with the Swiss Stage initially peaking at 3,627,103 concurrent viewers, according to figures released on Jan. 18, 2026. Updated data now places the peak at 4,817,088 (over 4.8M) viewers, confirming M7 as the most-watched pre-Knockout Stage event in M Series history, just days after the Wild Card round became the most-viewed Wild Card stage the tournament has recorded.
The peak occurred during a high-profile matchup between Indonesian powerhouse ONIC ID and Team Falcons, according to Esports Charts.
The result surpassed the 2.5M peak recorded during the M6 Swiss Stage and more than doubled Group Stage viewership from earlier editions, including M5 and M4. The Swiss format, introduced at M6 to replace traditional group play, was designed to improve competitive balance and has coincided with sustained audience growth.
M7 World Championship Viewership Signals Mobile Esports Expansion
The Swiss Stage performance builds on momentum from the M7 Wild Card, which reached 447,251 peak concurrent viewers to become the most-watched Wild Card stage in M Series history. The combined figures underline the continued rise of MLBB as a global esports property, following its ranking as 2025’s most-watched mobile esports title.
“MLBB Esports continues to grow at an unprecedented pace,” said Tiger Xu, global head of MLBB Esports at MOONTON Games, adding that M7’s numbers reflect the maturity of the ecosystem across partners, talent development, and fan engagement.
Esports Charts co-founder and CEO, Artyom Odintsov, said the M7 Swiss Stage surpassed M6’s peak by more than 1M viewers. He added that TikTok outperformed YouTube in key markets such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, highlighting the role of non-traditional platforms in driving growth.
