PUBG BATTLEGROUNDS has announced a global user-generated content (UGC) contest in partnership with CurseForge, a mod distribution platform owned by Overwolf. The competition offers a $95K USD prize pool and gives creators a chance to have their work featured in the upcoming PUBG: Playgrounds. The contest runs from Aug 4 to Sep 15, 2026.
Winning entries are planned to become official experiences in the new in-game hub. The feature arrives with PUBG's August 2026 update.
"The Battlegrounds have always been shaped by you, and now it's time to build them," PUBG stated while announcing the initiative. PUBG: Playgrounds will serve as a dedicated space where players can discover curated community-created modes. It is also designed to inspire players to build their own experiences.
Both first-time creators and experienced modders can participate, and multiple submissions are allowed.
PUBG x CurseForge UGC Contest Features Three Categories
Creators can submit entries across three categories:
- Combat: PvP modes such as Gun Game, Team Deathmatch, sniper battles, aim challenges, and 1v1 arenas.
- Survival: PvE experiences including wave defense, co-op defense, and objective-based missions.
- Creative: Parkour, party games, racing, puzzles, sandbox experiences, and other non-combat gameplay.
Each category offers a $25K prize pool.
First place earns $10K, followed by $5K for second and $3K for third. Cash prizes will be awarded through tenth place, with all 30 winning modes planned for inclusion in PUBG: Playgrounds. The three category winners will be featured from October through December 2026.
Meanwhile, nine additional winning modes will also receive monthly promotion. Six community favorites, chosen through player voting, will receive $2.5K each. CurseForge will also award 10 mid-contest prizes worth $500. PUBG noted that the feature schedule could change in the future.
Submission Process and Contest Timeline
CurseForge will manage contest submissions and moderation, while participants must own a BATTLEGROUNDS PLUS account to enter. Creators must upload their UGC mode through CurseForge, complete the official entry form, and use the same PUBG nickname as the account that created the submission. Entries using copied work, mismatched account details, or promotional content will be disqualified.
A panel representing PUBG, CurseForge, and the modding community will judge entries based on fun factor, originality, completeness, and community evaluation. Submissions open on Aug 12, followed by the announcement of mid-contest winners on Aug 23. Entries close on Sep 2, with community voting taking place from Sep 6-9.
The final winners will be revealed on Sep 14, 2026.
