Highlights

  • Reports suggest the Resident Evil Requiem Last Days DLC is set for fall 2026.
  • The expansion is expected to feature Ada Wong, Alyssa Ashcroft, and Mercenaries mode.
  • The game surpassed 6 million sales and reached 344,214 peak Steam players.

Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem is set to receive new story content, with reports indicating a major downloadable content (DLC) titled Last Days targeting a September 2026 release. The expansion is expected to introduce additional narrative threads, returning characters, and a multiplayer mode as part of a broader post-launch roadmap.

According to some sources, the DLC follows Leon S. Kennedy as he prepares to retire from the Division of Security Operations. He accepts one final mission that takes him back to Raccoon City. The expansion reportedly features Ada Wong and Alyssa Ashcroft, with events continuing shortly after the main campaign.

However, the Mercenaries mode is also expected to return, expanding combat-focused gameplay alongside the story content.

Capcom has already confirmed that extra story content is in development following the game’s strong reception. Resident Evil Requiem director, Koshi Nakanishi, said in a video message, “We’re hard at work on it now. It will take some time, so we ask for your patience and hope that you’ll look forward to it.”

Resident Evil Requiem DLC Content and Updates Ahead of Release

Reports also indicate that interim updates are planned before the September 2026 expansion.

Meanwhile, a mini-game is expected to arrive in May 2026, and a recent patch introduced Photo Mode alongside additional improvements. These updates are positioned as smaller additions leading into the larger story DLC.

Resident Evil Requiem takes place 30 years after the destruction of Raccoon City. Players control FBI agent Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy while solving puzzles, exploring the ruined environment, and fighting infected enemies.

The game also broke franchise records. It surpassed 6 million units within weeks, becoming one of the fastest-selling entries, and reaching 344,214 concurrent players on Steam at launch, the highest in series history. Additional data suggests more than 2.2M players engaged with the game daily across major platforms, reflecting continued interest following launch.

The game has continued receiving patches and improvements as Capcom prepares additional content.

If the reported timeline holds, Resident Evil Requiem: Last Days would serve as the first major story expansion for Resident Evil Requiem. It would extend the narrative while reinforcing Capcom’s strategy of supporting the title through staged updates and post-launch content.
