Sonic Rumble Crosses 10M Threshold A Day Ahead of its Launch
Sonic Rumble hits the 10 million threshold as new stages, battles, and ranking upgrades are added ahead of its global launch on November 5.
- Sonic Rumble tops 10M Early Rumblers ahead of its global launch on November 5, 2025.
- Players will unlock the "Chao Buddy" pre-launch campaign reward after the game goes live.
- New game update will have new stages, "Master Emerald League," and "Total Skill Level."
SEGA and Rovio Entertainment's Sonic Rumble has just crossed the threshold of 10 million "Early Rumblers," as a part of its pre-launch campaign.
The game’s official X handle celebrated the milestone and wrote, "We did it! We’ve reached over 10 million Early Rumblers – pre-registrations and downloads during pre-launch combined. With so many Rumblers joining the mayhem for Global Launch, it’s time to celebrate! 🎉"
Sonic Rumble's “Early Rumblers” indicate a cumulative number of players who pre-registered, pre-ordered, wishlisted, and made pre-launch downloads of the game. With such huge numbers to show, the anticipation of the game is much higher now, as it is just a day away from its global release (November 5, 2025).
The pre-launch campaign also had a campaign reward for the players, along with some additional new updates.
Sonic Rumble's milestone is achieved amidst the declining revenues of Rovio Entertainment (majority held by SEGA Sammy Holdings Inc.) and the soft launch of their new Angry Birds Match World game in Finnish Apple App Stores.
Sonic Rumble: What is the Pre-launch Award?
The pre-launch campaign seeking these "Early Rumblers" had been underway for some time. Back on October 27, 2025, the Sonic Rumble accounted for 1.4M pre-registrations and over 7M pre-launch downloads.
The authorities associated with the game particularly encouraged the players to reach the 10M peak to unlock a special in-game reward of a character named "Chao Buddy." Now that the number is achieved, this character will be distributed as soon as the game launches worldwide.
This million-worth threshold indicates that there is significant traction and can lead to a potentially larger launch day, including its already existing big built-in user base. If all these factors are leveraged well, Sonic Rumble may have long-term retention.
Sonic Rumble: New Updates Before Global Launch
Ahead of its global launch, Sonic Rumble introduced major changes as per the October 30, 2025, Steam community update. New stages like Sweet Mountain Run 2, Desert Ruins Hunt, and several Space Colony ARK maps will be introduced on November 20, along with a co-op boss fight against Biolizard.
There is also a new top-tier Rumble Ranking system added with a brand new “Master Emerald League,” that will begin on November 4, 2025, which is today. Achieving this “Master Emerald League” will help players unlock a new “Nameplate” effect and will display their highest Rumble Rankings in their “Battle Record.”
The new version will also include “Total Skill Level,” which boosts points based on players’ overall skill levels, “Seasonal Score Badges,” and a “Ring Claw Machine.”
The updated version of Sonic Rumble will not have “Skill Star Shop” items but will include a new event schedule. Google Play Points, Play Games Services, and Apple Game Center Achievements will also be integrated with the game.
